Blood tests - (need help)

Recommended Posts

FSH: 5.6 IU/L ( 2.0 - 12.0 )

L.H: 9.3 IU/L ( 2.0 - 9.0 ) H

Prolactin: 320 mIU/L ( 70 - 300 ) H

Testosterone: 7.6 nmol/L ( 8.0 - 29.0 ) LL

can you guys please help me to understand all this. the nurse briefly told me(over the phone) that my test levels are very low, below the range. my prolactin and LH is high. im going to dicuss these and some other blood i done with my doctor next week.

basically i wanted bloods for a number of reasons

1) feeling alot weaker lately

2) mood swings

3) my erections arent as hard as they were and feel impatent

4) stopped gaining weight, lost a little bit of weight (not much)

i can read, tough if theres anything to be dicussed it would be appreciated.

i think some of the questions im interested in knowing are:

1) can high prolactin levels affect the size of the nipples? last week i spotted one of my nipples were obviously bigger than the other. may have always been like this? i measured it and it was 3-4 mm wider and longer, can this just be natural asymmetry?

2) can i get HRT treatment as a result of really low testosterone levels? if so, is the treatment at the doctors or can you DIY? are you only perscribed "physiological doses"?

not yet, should be starting my first next month. the thyroid result must have been one of the ones i didnt get faxed :pfft:

7.6 is surprisingly and disappointingly low...by any chance can this be affected if you have trained or if you have/havnt eaten? or is the blood serum always consistent?

i dont think i could have been this low before. i put on 25kgs in a year and a half and stayed pretty lean for such an aggressive bulk. how could my test levels have been shot so bad all of a sudden? could i have made those gains while staying lean with really low testosterone from the start?

if you tested after training, could well have dropped your test. ive had similar results to you, but will leave it to experts to give advice.

oh sorry i dont mean post workout but i mean like i had been training these prior days before the blood-tests

Interesting :-s

My test has come back as low as 5 before and I had similar symtoms to yours. The difference between me and you however, would be that I only had my bloods tested after starting enhancement rather than before it.

When I had a 5 nmol/L reading I had finished a successful PCT 6-7 months prior (LH FSH and Test were all mid range a month after PCT). Why my test levels had dropped so low puzzled me...

How old are you?

Your test levels shouldnt be as low as that at your age.

Find out what your Free Test levels are. And get another blood test done in 2 weeks time...or before you start. I would hold off getting into gear just as yet if I was you.

can you elaborate why?

Shouldn't be many side effects if he used 250ml should it? Just to get the test levels up? Thats what the doc gave me for 10 weeks (but i'm not using it) and said it will give me results will no or minor side effects.

Oh and they will most likely give you needles to inject yourself in the upper leg.

dont want to sound emo but to give you guys an idea of how i feel:

pretty shit depressed moody as already stated...when im in the gym im dressed warm, stretch for 30 mins, bike 5 mins, set of light legcurl/leg extension then two sets of bar squats and i feel absolutely useless when it comes to my warmup/working sets.

when i unrack weights that i was lifting 1-2 months ago with ease i feel like im gunna faint. heart races and the blood doesnt even move anywhere, my muscles just feel like jelly.

high exertion exercises eg overhead press ill get double vision. high thought process exercises eg squats my nervous system feels shot and my back rounds on weights that normally would be light. my muscles arent engaging properly eg hipflexors and thoracic muscles to keep me upright.

even between my sets i feel shakey, dazed, no mental focus.

I would hold off getting into gear just as yet if I was you.

reflecting after my poor workout tonight and how i feel/been feeling personally/in the gym i think it is best that i post-pone my cylce for now. i dunno how i will be treated but it was pretty clear to me that something was wrong and requesting testosterone bloods proved so. i dont think these results could be far from reality, tough i may end up having to do more tests next week :(

High levels of prolactin can lower testosterone production.

Talk to your doc about your results, he may prescribe bromocriptine to reduce your prolactin levels.

will do, thanks.

how much is a perscription for test jw? you wouldnt get sides from 60mg a week :pfft:

There are a significant number of health risks posed when prescription medicines are used without supervision of a Medical Practitioner.

:pfft: good call, it was a stupid question

The most sensible thing to do would be to go see a professional who knows bout this kind of thing, starting a cycle and going on advice of forum members will only f*ck you up more after you've finished your cycle.

8)

ive already made an appointment to dicuss my results with my doc next week. ive researched quite a bit now so im farely confident in starting my cycle. its got nothing to do with this..incase your wondering.

this was just a surprise variable that got dropped in the mix..i gotta see what my dr has to say and what my options are.

im just asking people for advise/opinions on here as i know there are guys who have/have had low testosterone.

Hang in there man, at least you have some results now so you know where you're at.

Like SM said I wouldn't start a cycle if I was you until you get some of those levels back to normal range. Using AAS may alter them more so it's best you find out what the cause is before using any other substances.

Have you had an proper bodyfat test done? Sorry to say but you won't have put on 25kg of muscle in 1.5yrs you have been training. I found my natural test levels came up significantly after I got my bodyfat down under 15%.

Your prolactin problems could be the cause of your erection probs and mood. High prolactin and low test isn't a good combo. The prolactin is causing your dazed and confused feelings. You'll feel better once you get this under control.

Let's see what your doc says.

im around the 15% mark i was much leaner when i started though ive noticed an increase in fat per kg of weight in the say last 5kgs of progression. my gains werent all muscle, of course not, but i meant i was able to maintain a lean build for such a strong bulk. alot of my fat is on my gut as for my back/chest/legs and arms they are pretty lean.

i got a number of other tests eg renal, total blood count, thyroid, glucose, b12 folic acid and some others. because lots of my fat went onto my gut i thought maybe it was an insulin related problem? diabetes runs in the family. apparently my blood glucose is fine. i read that if you have low testosterone your more resistant to insulin? could this also be why im gaining more fat per kg now than i was before?

edit: addtionally if didnt eat for 3-4 hours prior to my blood test can this give someone who has insulin related problems a 'normal glucose' reading? or is the blood glucose always consistent regardless of your eating?
