Wendlers 5/3/1 would be another good option. More variety than Sheiko and designed as a slightly less PLing specific strength programme although excellent for this. A lot easier to make mods to for the average person imho.

I'm not taking a stab at Sheiko guys - I want to be proven wrong because I would like to try the program! I thought one of you might suggest a bit of assistance work could be thrown in or simply that the primary focus of the program is to increase your total - not to build a BBer physique.

I totally agree with Nate & the above I am following Sheiko at present its not a bb program and if you muck around with it adding to much assistance work here and there for example barbell curls, wrist curls calf raises etc etc and then also take this assistance work to near failure you have a high chance you won't be recovered in time for next training session as its scientifically designed for the propose off improving bench squat and deadlifts,

but I have 5,3,1 e - book and a excel spreadsheet program if you want it just flick me a PM its a more all round strength training program suiting all sorts of sports
