Good Stuff City Fitness - Moorhouse, CHC

Just wanted to give City Fitness Moorhouse a heads up on bringing in a huge amount of new equipment (ok its been used but still good condition). I arrived at the gym on Friday night to find about 40-50 additional machines. The range is Cybex, Nautilus & Life Fitness & are all pretty good quality functional gear. My partner & I were like boys in a candy shop trying everything out. I think we ended up having a full body workout but actually finished with a massive attack on arms using some of the machines. Sure its a bit tight around some of the pieces but seems that is the standard in most gyms these days. Pack em in with little regard to saftey & personal space :D So just wanted to say thanks to City Fitness (old Pro Fitness) at Moorhouse. Gyms get a lot of complaints but nice to see them doing something good for their members.

Watch this space - this positive change @ CF is only the beginning. The current layout of the new gear is not permanent, but close to it with maybe a few changes to come, the powers that be just wanted it in for the members to use - no dicking around. CF has big money behind it and they're not afraid to spend it which is a refreshing change from the Pro-Fitness days

Tks Lowfat. The gym certainly needed some upgrading. I expect it will take you some time to sort out the layout. I agree with the concept of placing equipment into muscle group but with such a number of machines now this may not always work out. I feel the space down by the boxing ring is now under utilised & could be looked at but please dont take out my favourite steel DB's rack.

Totally argree, It use to be a good area for lifting away from the cardio and time wasters. Seems pretty bare these days, must have something planned for the area??

I do like the feel of the black DB more than the blue(dont get rid of the black ones), just not heavy enough for some exercises

The new additions to the gym are fantastic.

The area down by the boxing was origionally cleared as Pro Fitness was going to turn that whole area into a boxing area with a full sized ring. unfortunatly that is not in the City Fitness plan so hence we ended up with a bit of a wasted area. but this will be sorted into a more usable area in the next week or so.

The gear is getting set out at the end of the week with some areas set out so beginners can just go from machine to machine without having to track across the gym to cover all bodyparts. it will take a few weeks i would imagion to fine tune the set up to make it more user friendly but the end result would have to be one of the most equiped weights areas in NZ.

Like MNZ i had a bit of a play in the weekend and the naughtilus and cybex bi and tri equipment were great! Infact wiping my arse this morning was a mission!!!

I have been at PF/CF for over 10yrs now and i have in the most part always been happy with the facilities we have in the weights room (for training and working with clients) the new additions just strengthen (sorry for the punn) that position.

PS Id just like to add the black D/B's are from the awesome old World Gym ChCh
