2.5-3 hour training sessions.... your joking right?

How unnecessary.

:naughty: Check out the workload that the sheiko workouts put you through and tell me you could pump them out in under an hour :-s

LOl agree TT. These are not the 3 sets of 8 you see in Mens Health Magazine or Muscle and Fitness :pfft:

You guys are in your own little world, 3 hours in the gym wanting to be 140kg, 140kg for what.... I know guys 90kg who are stronger than you. do your body a favour and re assess your training. I know it all sounds wonderful on paper but you prob dont look very impressive

It's not Boosting, because he's in Australia, and PP is in NZ. I doubt that it's RippedSurfer, because they both registered on the same day - before you guys gave Surfer shit about his unbelievable progress.

Beyond that, I don't think it's helpful to speculate about who a troll might be. If it is an existing member, us trying to guess who they are just makes trolling more fun for them. Besides, the internet has no shortage of fresh trolls. :P

If you think an existing member is here as a troll, it's best to report the post and alert the mods privately. :)

Its not like its 3hrs every workout only on the highest volume days and when the accumulated fatigue sets in. Heard of supercompensation? basic sports science stuff. Gaining weight is useful for balancing out leverages. If your 90kgs and 6ft7 you may have a good dl but you wont squat for shit. And yep I weigh 115 fully clothed and look like shit

My offer to steak and knock knock for a call out is still going, lets go! post yr vids up. well meet up in the gym and see who stronger 90kg or 140kg

[mod snip - unnecessary]

3 hours is ridiculous.

I dont mind entering into discussion with you NZMM cos you seem like a level headed staight shooting sort of sheep..let me know if Im wrong

I am not going to defend/justify myself or training to anyone as I know it works and works well (added 35kgs to my total in last 8 week cycle) but I will explain it for you in laymens terms as there are some that seem a bit baffled by the duration and concept of the programme. Just as a side note I stated that only some workouts (maybe 3-4 in the entire programme) stretched out to 3 hours what with the being in the peak of the programme, a huge ammount of accumulated fatigue, sheiko flu (basically you feel like you have been steam-trained) and working with a training partner.)

Anyhoo...heres a general breakdown of how it works so you might understand it a little more clearly. Take the time to read it and understand it as it really does work well and may even assist your own training in a mass building phase by adding in an 8 week cycle in. I have grown like a weed on it both in strength and muscularity

Sheiko Training

Sheiko Training uses percentages to manage your lifting volume. You start low and work your way up, increasing the percentage as you go along. For the beginner, the first bench press set might be 50% of max lift, then 60%, 70% and the finally 75%. Remember that although the weight may be lower than what you're used to doing, you'll be doing more reps (volume) than in a normal workout. In fact, with Sheiko training you may be going anywhere between 850 - 1000 reps each month, sometimes more.

In addition, there are three periods in Sheiko Training: the preparatory period where the foundation is established, the emulative period, which is more advanced and the transitive period, which prepares you to renew the cycle again. During the preparatory period volume is higher and intensity lower. Conversely, during the emulative period, intensity is higher but volume lower. And finally, during the transitive period, volume, intensity and the number of weekly workouts are all reduced in order to give the body time to recuperate.

So there you have it in a nutshell. It has been producing champion lifters across the globe and locally for a long time now and you will find it as no surprise to know that Steve Pritchard, Reuben Simanu and other elite lifters attibute it to much of the success they have had/are having.

I found it funny that my fat guys thread got derailed by a skinny guy

Check out Brian Siders for an example of someone who trains with a Sheiko variant - high volume and long sessions. He is even an extreme case where he trains much longer than the average regular Sheiko trainee. If you look at the volume in his workout journal it is f*cking mind blowing. Over the weekend Brian Siders (unofficially) broke the IPF world records of Squat, Bench and Total (the bench was 362.5kg and took less than 1 second to press, there are videos floating around of this).

You can argue a lot of things against a long training session but the fact is that it's a completely different animal to what most bodybuilders are familiar with. It's more about neural adaption than muscular. And yes, a 3 hour intense bodybuilding workout would be very counter productive (in most cases).

Here's an awesome snap of Siders:
