Well the competitors were good, probably about 35 of them? Show was a fucking shambles as per usual. Ppl told at reg'n that no Dream Tan backstage and that they had to have a spray tan courtesy of Moe for $50 done b4 PJ. Moe tanned the chicks and the 2 ladies tanned the men. Moe just gets creepier! Show late-ish. Ppl allowed to enter 2 classes as well.

But wait, there's more...Tara won u55 Physique Nov and o35 Masters Physique so got 2 lots of prizes, yay, but no? they took back one of her prizes!!!!!! She had paid 2x entry fees but wasn't allowed 2x prizes. Got to keep her 2 medals and just one prize. WTF!!!

AND, the tan booths were in that downstairs foyer, opening was pointing out towrds windows. Anyone walking up from car park got to cop an eyefull! Plus Moe got his "jollies" having to tan the naked ladies - who then got perved at by the public that was looking over the balcony!

Any one else?

i went too the show last night and there were some great athletes congrats to all off them!

i must say watching the show was a shambles whats the story about more then one class i just dont get it feel like its a bit of a mockery really one guy done classic men then came out again later and done under 70 it seems like a way too get more money out of the athlets but i guess its there choice and maybe an attempt to drag the show out a bit longer.

the jujutsi was something different i enjoyed watching it but hope its just a one off.

probably the most annoying mc ive heard at a show was even making fun off the athlets at times even if he was just joking i just didnt find it funny im sure the athlets didnt either.

all in all was a good show as far as the quality of competitors go worth my 25 bucks

went to the show on sunday to cheer on sidney, 50th anniversary from last winning an auckland show. what a legend and a real inspiration. 78 yrs , he has truly found the fountain of youth. FYI he was getting filmed this morn at City Fitness possibly for a news show. unfortunately I didn't get to ask them which channel he was going to be on. but he did make it in the sunday herald.

On the show, thought it was a bit rough, especially when they didn't combine the categories. one only had one guy on stage, so he was prety much guaranteed a win

I went to the show last and I thought it was a good show with some good athlets on show took lots of pics.I got to meet Grant and Seas which I thought was very cool plus I got samaple supplement which are joint care, power caps and fat burners. Two other points that I would like to make about the show which are that new rule that athlete can compete in two classes now which has got me thinking dose rule appply for both male and female athlets? and one other thingh which I thought was very inspering a old dude who compete in the 1960 Auckland champs which I thought was cool

That sounds terrible. Im seriously considering going to NABBA. Competing in two categories... thats shit! and why the hell no dream tan?? Go pay to get a spray tan, how about you kiss my ass.

the next big innovation in the NZFBB.. upper body category.. you can compete wearing pants so the NZFBB can make some money out of all the upper bodybuilders out there.

Hi All,

I competed in both figure classes. It sure was an interesting day. I had planned not to compete with NZFBB this year considering last years shambles, but the cash prizes lured me in and I also thought I'd give Mo's new american figure style class a go.

I had no idea that no dream tan or shimmer was allowed backstage, there was nothing on the NZFBB website or Go Figure and nothing was mentioned when I registered at Xtreme Nutrition, so lucklily I tanned up at home, which meant I didn't have to have the pleasure of being spray tanned by Mo personally  Briefing was supposed to start at "9am sharp" but didn't kick off till much closer to 10am which meant once again that the show started late. Auditiorium lights were on the whole pre judging show which made for no atmosphere.

The 5pm finals started late, the fighting went on for what seemed like hours and competitors were getting very frustrated backstage, wondering if we were still in a bodybuilding show??? Once the figure class went on the M.C guy was making leary comments to the "boys" in the audience, something along the lines of "I like the butt on number 26, a good show for the perverts ay boys" :naughty:

The figure girls were not told that there were not be an overall for the Body Figure class (compulsory poses) and there was only an overall for the Figure class (quarter turns and a strut) so when we went on stage for the overalls we launched into our quarter turns posing hard - expecting to have some compulsory poses to follow but then were asked to leave the stage after completing the symmetry round. We then realised that we performed poses that were not entirely suited to the american figure quarter turns and there was no 2nd chance as it was done! Once again - lack of communication.

I do have to say that the overall prizes were extremely generous, and although I do love doing compulsory poses, the american figure style posing was very enjoyable and it did feel glamourous. I will definitely enter this class again, I just hope that Mo and the crew can get it together to find what works to suit a NZ show, otherwise competitors will just compete elsewhere.

I would not be all the surprised to see lots of NZFBB athlets going over to NABBA WFF or INBA plus doing a few shows over in OZ given what happend at the Auckland champs like athlets being taned in taning booths which the genral public could see when the best option would have been to have the tanning boths back stage.
