Info on Steroids - long term effects

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone. My partner is taking steroids and he tells me to do some research of my own before i make judgements. I feel concerned about the long term effects of somebody taking them. He has done them for a few years in the uk as they are legal over there. I guess im concerned about the fact that A. its illegal, B. the media hype about the mental effects ie mood swings and C. The long term damage on the body over a period of many years. Does anyone know a good non biased website where I can find out some facts for myself? He comes up with a million reasons for why it isnt bad for him but I would rather hear from someone not trying to justify what theyre doing! haha. I would never tell him to stop and I am behind him 100% with his passion - he is looking amazing....but i do love him.....so I wanna know more.

He has been taking deca and test for a few months now

Any feedback is welcomed :P

long term effects BIGGER STRONGER FASTER enough said.

I'd be concerned for anyone taking medical advice from you jimjim...... I think it's the quote you have in your posts from a movie about smackheads that makes me nervous! :pfft:

Seriously though, if you meant the long term effects were that you get BIGGER STRONGER FASTER, then maybe you should add a few more side effects to give a balanced view of gear use.

However if your reference is to the movie Bigger, Stronger, Faster; I think its a good starting point for anyone wanting to know more.

as far as i'm concerned, the negatives outweigh the positives. unless you're one of these people that doesn't give a toss about their health

on the other side, (trying not to be biased here :) ) there are far worse drugs out there

Just stick it in she'll be right is my motto  .

I wasnt referring to the movie but its worth a watch.

Seriously though there are much more dangerous drugs out there smoking kills 1/2 of its user (thinks thats what the ad said) odds are better for using gear(using not abusing).

thats not 2c...thats wassup

if they use steroids for medical use to help fight diseases such as muscular dystrophy, hiv, aids, burn victims and many other conditions/diseases why are steroids so dangerous?

the difference between the above mentioned^ and the typical steroid user is a greater volume of steroid and the difference between the typical user and abuser is the volume of steroid once again!

we supplement vitamins and minerals, sometimes in higher doses that arent even proven to be needed, but it doenst kill us. everything has adverse effects in high volume.

Thanks for the opinions. Im not after a medical opinion, rather facts and such from people on them, against them and on the fence. It all helps with me becoming educated rather than judging him on media hype. Can any one tell me what he will be like once he has finished his cycle? I read on another post about doing it in cycles and I asked him if he would crash in those weeks when he is "off" he never actually answered my question. Is he going to be low on energy and the most important question - Is he gonna loose interest in sex?? (please god no.)

And I really agree with you there. I am an occasional smoker  so definately not one to judge my man on things he puts in his body! :pfft:

Plus I guess people drink themselves stupid every weekend and that takes its toll on the body. He hardly touches alcohol and doesnt smoke cigarettes

Like I said before the only effects/side effects ive had are size and strength gains.

long term Ill have to wait and see Im sure if I get cancer or heart problems in the future I could contribute it to the use but who really knows could have happened any way.

Theres heaps of info on heap about post cycle therapy that you could show him.

And if hes male he will still get a hard on.

If not flick me a PM :pfft:

If you can find yourself a copy of buy William Llewellyn's Anabolics 9th Edition, that's a very good read. Comprehensive, but doesn't assume you know anything, and neutral. Llewellyn doesn't try to play down the risks of anabolic steroids, but he does conclude that used moderately, the risks can be minimised.
