Nutrition Plan Help Please

Hey, I'm trying to sort out a nutrition plan on a very small budget. Food is rediculously expensive in Dunaz ( $20/kg skin on chicken breast) so about the only thing I can afford to buy in bulk is mince ($10/kg). What I'm a little worried about is the lack of variety in this rough plan I've written up. The times I eat are orientated around my Uni schedule. If anyone has any advice in terms of quantities I'm eating, what I'm eating, what else I should be eating etc within a relatively small budget I would be very interested on hearing what you have to say. Thanks :wink:

5.30am Wakeup - 3/2scp Bioplex + 250mL Water

6.00am Gym

7.00am 3/2scp Bioplex + 250mL Water + 25g Dextrose + 2x Handful Oats + 2x Fish Pills

8.00am 100g Mince + Vege + 150g Spaghetti

11.00am 100 Mince + Vege + 150g Spaghetti

1.00pm 100g Mince + Vege + 100g Spaghetti

4.00pm 150g Mince + Vege + 100g Spaghetti

7.00pm 150g Mince + Vege + 100g Spaghetti

9.00pm 3/2scp Bioplex + 500Milk + Banana

9.30pm Sleep

~270p + ~350c + ~80f = ~3200cal

PS. I also read that dry pasta has around 70g carb/100g but only 30gcarb/100 when you cook it http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_much_carb ... _spaghetti. I hope that's bullshit but I don't know why it was published if it is :-s

Also what about some Tuna, the mince could have some high fat content

No Mad Butchers in Dunedin at all :x . Yeah I used to eat Tuna but I got paranoid about the Mercury so now I just take fish pills that have been tested to get the omegas. I drain a lot of the fat out of the mince by cooking it and then squeezing it in a seive, takes away a lot of the flavour though...

There's an abbatoir in Dunedin (kinda toward Uni gym area, it's been a while since I was there...) that sells boneless skinless chicken breast in 25kg lots cheap. Look it up.

What's your concern re. this?

When you cook pasta it absorbs water so 100g cooked pasted ~ 40g dry (not sure of exact ratio). If you measure your pasta dry don't stress too much that you aren't getting in the carbs you thought you were.

Though I am probably missing the point entirely lol.

Regarding the chicken prices here, the Perfect Poultry Shoppe on Kaikorai Valley Rd is the place to go. They've always got good prices, although their specials change so it pays to go in and check out what's what.

As for mince, I have it pretty much every day, just mix up what you have with it and it's all good. Mince & Chilli & cheese one night, Mince & Green Curry & cheese the next night. At the end of the day, food is fuel, just put it in and let it do it's thing. My diet is pretty much the same from one day to the next, you soon get used to it. And every few weeks, Countdown does mince for $4.99 - $5.99 per kilo. Stock up.
