Good looking bars!

If you were paying 75 bucks for a box of bars, you're crazy. Second, I'm sure you can find a bar with a better sourse of protein than Caseinate and Hydrolyzed Collagen. Thirdly, if you've got time to eat a carb source, then you've got time to wolf down a proper meal.

Shop around, I'm sure you'll find something applicable.

I've found http://www.ebody.co.nz have some good sales from time to time and http://www.nex.co.nz have 2 for 1 deals sometimes too.

give them a try but anything over $3 a bar is very expensive!

and they aren't the best source of protein - I only use them in "emergencies" - you could carry some shredded chicken in a little chiller bag?? More cost efective and way better protein source.

If you have access to a fridge or you can carry around a cooler bag this is a relatively cheap option that's easy to chow down in a hurry. The night before, mix together some plain low-fat unsweetened yoghurt (de Winkels, Slimmer's Choice, Weight Watcher's etc), some low-carb flavoured protein powder (Dymatize butter cream toffee is nice) and some cold cooked brown rice. When you go to eat it the next day it tastes a bit like rice pudding. You can fool around with the amounts to get the protein/CHO/fat combinations you like. For example, the bar you like has 42g protein, 37g CHO and 8g fat. You could get close to this with 1.5 scoops protein, 150g yoghurt and 1/3 cup cooked brown rice, which is roughly 44g protein, 35g CHO and 3g fat. If you wanted to more closely match the fat amount you could always mix in a teaspoon of flax oil.

Hope that's useful!
