read the initial post on ' what sucks about my gym' and you'll know what gym not to go to. Check out AUT gym on Akoranga Drive, in Northcote, there's some excellent equipment, weights and now some serious powerlifting and strongman stuff going on there as well. at least the trainers know what they're talking about.

Alternatively come into see Harbour Fitness for yourself, and make up your own mind.

Much to Big bobs surprise I'm sure, his issues with the Birkenhead branch have been raised with the gym management, of which I am part of the team (PT Manager) and we are looking at how we can do the job better.

Personally I love training at the Glenfield branch, it has a great energy with a lot of trainers who want to work hard and get results, as for hardcore our Instructor Team Leader Richard and his training partner regualarly rep out 180+ k deads for reps (no wraps or loops).

If you check out Harbour Fitness on you tube you can see the gym in the background, we make no apologies for appealing to all the community and not just bodybuilders, it's a lot easier to support our bodybuilders if we are in business.

Feel free to PM me directly if you wish, I'd be happy to arrange to show you around and provide you with a complementary workout to give you the opportutnity to decide your own thoughts.

As to the trainers knowing what they are talking about- let me leave you with a just a few of the credentials of my team:

Bachelor of Science

North Habrour Rugby Rep

Warriors Trainer

NRL Qualified Trainer

NZ Kiwi Ferns Head Trainer

NZRL Trainer of the year

Australasian HW Kickboxing Champion

ACC Certified Rehab specialist

Brisbane Broncos & Penrith Panthers U21s

Junior Kiwis player 2 years

4th Place NABBA Worlds -Figure

Multi National Champion, Overall Mr NZ....oh and IFBB Pro Bodybuilder

I pretty happy my PT's know what they're doing;)

I have trained at the AUT gym and its not really all that exciting. Not very much to play around with and lots of boy band look a likes prenning them selves in the mirrors.

AUT akoranga gym is ok got a brand new set of bumper plates, got some new kettlebells coming in, got some strongman gear and a getstrength GHR which is basically the reason i train there often(besides studying exercise science there :pfft: ). Good knowledgable folk there danny and paul real knowledgable when it comes to pl/ol and we got other trainers to fill in the inbetween. Only downside is its closed on somedays for a few hours when classes are being held there.
