Hey there

I've been working out for roughly 8 months religously now. I started out at 85kg and now I'm currently 79kg. I've notice my waist getting smaller however I cannot seem to get rid of it completely to see my abs.

My stats:

Male

178cm or 5"10 height

79kg

bodyfat unknown

My diet:

Breakfast

2 egg whites

plain oatmeal with whey protein

½ cup skim milk

1 teaspoon of Flax seed oil

Snack

Cottage cheese with strawberries

Lunch

Turkey breast

brown rice

1 small Apple

My post workout meal

1 Banana

whey protein powder

Dinner

chicken breast

1 cup of mixed vegetables

Routine:

Mon, Wed and Fri - I do weight training

Tues, Thurs and Sat - High intensity interval training (either biking or jump rope)

Sun - Rest day

Can anyone give me any suggestion on how to lose the last bit of fat and preferable obtain a <10% BF. How long should it take??

Possible but it just takes a bit longer its easier to bulk and then cut..

A clean diet high in protein with a good training routine will get rid of unwanted fat and help u build muscle at the same time.

Do you take supplements? 30days on Mitotropin would do you some wonders.

Sometimes the abs just don't show through, even if you're bodyfat is low. You can see at bodybuilding shows, some guys are stripped of fat but still have no abs - genetics? Keep squating with intensity, hard work pays off. Your calorie intake is a little on the lean side, you might need to increase it to build up a good muscle base.

Whey is a "food" not a supplement - it's simply a convenient way of increasing daily protein intake as part of a calculated diet.

Thermogenic supplements (like Hydroxycut, Lipo6, Mitotropin et cetera) have their place, but there's a saying that "abs are built in the kitchen". Plus, fixing diet is a heck of a lot cheaper than dropping a couple hundred dollars on supps, esp if their effectiveness would be impaired by a inefficient diet.

Some steps I'm taking: a. get your actual bf measured (find a tame PT who can put calipers on at-least four-point skinfolds);

b. take a good look at your diet - there have been some very good posts on here about the Protein-Carb-Fat ratios for effective fat loss. Work out your maintenance calories, then set a diet some 300-500 cals (but no more) below maintenance. And Yes, it is entirely possible that you may not be eating enough - and that your body is using muscle as an energy source, not fat.

c. carry on with a programme of lifting including the classic big lifts - calories burned are calories burned, you won't get rid of bf any other way.

Just my 2c worth.
