ANB Asia Pacific Champs

A top class New Zealand team of bodybuilders are travelling over to the Gold Coast, Australia for the ANB (Australasian Natural Bodybuilding) Asia Pacific Champs, which is to be held on the 29th May.

We have a team of 34 competitors, plus their support crews/family/friends - so there's going to be a great number of us to compete and support this fabulous event.

The NZ team consists of several past NZ National Champions, Regional champions and also a handful of novices - all of whom are looking forward to the experience of competing in this drug-tested federation.

2009 saw a team of 10 kiwis compete at this event - most of whom are returning this year, as they were so impressed with how this federation conducted itself and respected their athletes.

The word must have got out because we have now blitzed that number of kiwi competitors and I'm excited about seeing these dedicated drug-free athletes achieve their goals, in 9 weeks, after all their hard work.

thanks sports guru :D

we aim to do our best!

to know more about the ANB federation visit http://www.anb.com.au/

and thanks rede for being the only male on the team that has so far been brave enough to be profiled on site!

we also have a few of the girls profiles on the NZ page of the ANB site, and over the next few weeks more will be added - including one of our 3 'bodybuilding couples' who are part of the team

Enough with inflammatory posts, NZMM. You're heading for the naughty step again.

Back on topic, 34 competitors is more than some local shows I've been to, so to rally that number to enter an overseas show is an amazing achievement, Ali. Good stuff!

That was before I knew you were the moderator on Australian Bodybuilding Forum and had access to everyone's accounts and you would hack into their personal information to change it falsely to your twisted way of thinking. How unprofessional is that! - as a sport we are put down enough as it is by mainstream media without a wacko like you adding to the cause.

I wasnt begging for someone to take me in, I was merely putting it out there if someone was keen to host and share training ideas. As it is I have found my own way now.

If you're such a big man why dont you take me on on the stage and put your money where your mouth seems to be.

  • 2 weeks later...

We have a few more profiles of the team up now on the ANB site, and a few more going up over the next couple of weeks.

http://www.anb.com.au/

I have had a lot of enquiry about competing in the ANB over the last couple of weeks, so please feel free to contact me with any questions in regard to the Asia Pacific Champs that the team are travelling over to compete in in May, or just questions about the ANB in general.

It looks like the team has grown in numbers even more, just waiting on confirmation on a few flights etc.

It's only 2 weeks to go until the ANB Asia Pacific International Champs is on - this event has attracted a large number of entries and the kiwi team are going to be stacking up in some very big line-ups.

Many are making the trip with family/trainers/supporters, so the kiwi contingent will exceed 100 - lots of crowd support for sure!

I would like to wish the team all the best and look forward to seeing you all (and your families/friends) soon on the sunny Gold Coast.

You have all worked so hard towards this goal - now go out there, hold your heads up high, support each other, and show them how the kiwis can compete fairly and be extremely competitive on an international stage!

Heres the team...

Yes Ali agree with Ann, & congratulations on getting 35+ competitors over to the ANBs on the Gold Coast. Thats a terrific effort on part of your organisation & I wish you all the very best over there. Hope that some of your people will consider WFF divisions with our Federation - NABBA/WFF NZ. We are not adverse to cross federation competition & we would welcome your athletes providing they meet WFF criteria. Top of the South Championships in Blenheim on Sat 4th Sept & NABBA/WFF NZ National Championships in CHC on 2nd Oct. Both one show format.

Hey, thanks Ann and Musclenz for your good wishes, yes it is a good strong team and I'm looking forward to seeing them achieve their goals.

Musclenz, the major draw-card for these athletes to join the team and compete at the ANB Asia Pacific Champs was the fact that it is a drug-tested (ASADA) event.

For many of them this was an important (if not the most important) part of their choice when considering their competition options.

However, this is not to say they wont go on to compete in other federations, in fact the ANB have always been open to their athletes competing in other federations.

The bodybuilding community is too small to limit our athletes to strictly sticking to one federation to compete in - they just have to choose wisely and make the right decisions for themselves, to compete when and where they feel they are best suited.

I wish you all the best for your comps in September/October
