Insulin Pre-Workout

Recommended Posts

I've been doing a fair bit of research into this and was interested to know if anyone on this forum has tried it and if so what they thought/results etc.

I'm NOT looking for replys commenting on the potential risks of this as i'm more than aware

Note: This is a protocol for advanced BBers only

never tried it pre work out, only post. from the effects of insulin when your blood sugar levels drop it wouldn't be something i'd try. had it crash a few times and been like a hungry bear consuming anything to get it back up.

I presume your doing it post workout and morning at the moment?

Yeah mate fast-acting pre-breakfast and post-workout has always been the go for me although last week i tried my first pre-workout and will also give it another go tonight

Dont do fast acting pre workout asking for trouble lways post and then make sure you are in hands reach of a meal or two :)

Cheers Justin - understand the potential issues with pre-workout - my question was more about if anyone had used pre what results they achieved versus using post?

For illustrative purposes, the general consensus to avoid a crash is to use min 10gms dextrose for every 1iu of slin.

your using GH through out the year I imagine? Insulin and GH together for a duration must make some good gains over time.

Whats the advantage of insulin pre work out? I'm guessing somehow it makes for better protein asumilation post workout?

Probably not alot of people on here would have used it pre work out unfortunatly so you'll have to be the test subject :)

Know a few guys that have split it up into 3 or more shots ed but some of them where up to 30iu or more. I guess you have to at that level but its a very advanced science using that much that often & then you get into all sorts of issues with carb loads etc. Have only every used post myself & then eat like a bastard for 4 hours

The idea with pre-workout insulin is the shuttling of nutrients consumed during and immediately post workout into the muscle while blood flow to the muscle is at its greatest (ie when pumped). The intra-workout nutrients would normally include BCAA's, Glutamine, Creatine and Dextrose. You could also sip whey isolate during your workout. A fast acting insulin 15mins before a workout peaks at around 1.5 hours just in time for your post workout shake. It's all about maximising the window for max nutrient absorbtion.

The two major risks with using insulin are crashing on low sugar and getting fat due to improper nutrition at the wrong times. Pre workout slin should give much better results on avoiding fat gain, and if you don't underdo your sugar intake after shooting the slin, will avoid going hypo as well.

It is too early for me to comment on the results i have achieved using this protocol (started last week) but i have noticed a massive increase in muscle pumps both during and for in excess of a day following - thats gotta be good

Just to re-itterate - using insulin is an advanced science and could have fatal conseqences if not used correctly (i'm not encouraging everyone who hasn't used it yet to run out and start it)

if that isn't motivation then what is

how much sugar/dextrose are you taking pre workout? 10 gms per 1iu?

how much slin are you using pre work out 10-20 iu's?

100g Dextrose used for 10iu. Shoot the slin 15mins before training, neck half the dextrose straight away, then sip the rest during workout. Haven't had that "faint" feeling yet but might increase the dextrose to 110g just in case. Post workout shake just includes whey isolate - no need for further fast acting carbs. Then a meal 1 hour later (300g white fish/350g spuds)

i know of people that used slin pre work out, there are very different types of the stuff that will all do essentially the same thing but very very different timings.

it would actually be metabolically better to take it pre work out eat something then work out, but you need to speak to people in the know.

if i knew how to private message on here i could give you some pointers!!!!!
