Nutritional info panel - protein in Jetplanes?

I saw on Target recently that one of the brands of tuna, home brand I think, had their sodium stated at about 4 x what the lab tested it as. I don't care too much about that, but the protein per 100g (and accordingly protein per $) is a figure I look at often and I'd previously taken it pretty much for granted that it's accurate.

So with my new found scepticism I had a closer look at a few things, and how about this... The panel on a packet of Pascalls Jet Planes puts it at something like 9% protein. That's more than some crappy sausage meat and the ingredients are pretty much all sugar.

Any idea if there is actually protein in there? Or is the panel totally out of whack with reality?

What are some other surprising/alternative sources of protein? Getting some in from egg noodles rather than regular spaghetti seems a good one to me. Yellow top milk having more than the other kinds came up in another thread. Choosing Snickers over Moro for the nuts. etc

No way! That is pretty gross but really fascinating.

In that case, without repeating protein sources 101, where does gelatin sit in the protein hierachy? (Whey good, absorbed quickly. Casein, also good but slow releasing. I've heard/read Soy's not as useful for muscle repair/growth - true/fase? Oh, and what is good old beef chicken tuna etc classed as?)

Cheers

Also ingredients like hydrolyzed vegetable protein will raise the protein content of food, but again, it's not a complete protein and I wouldn't be counting the protein from these types of food as dietary protein. The only protein I'd actually count would be meat, milk, etc.
