Ok I'm on tender hocks a the Moment. I have had a few warnings for specking the truth about "advanced sports supplements"

To answer your question on who FAILED there tests.

WELL....... you will all be very surprised or should I say embarrassed, especially those guys that claim they are Natural.

Lets just say not many who won, passed!!!!

They will be NAMED AND SHAMED in time.

That you can be sure of.

Looks like NABBA will have all there old competitors back next year.

First--- Musashi Brought by Nestle, The deal went through last month as far as I can gather, and it is part of Nestle,s push to gain more in this field in the supermarkets.

Last year Nestle brought one of the biggest selling bar companys in Canada and America, 'The Balance bar", which at the time i was negotiating to import into Australasia, but when the deal was done with nestle the door was slammed shut with them stateing they were not intrested in the australasian market!!

Now they have Musashi, although not big here in NZ it is big in Aussie and the UK.

Alot of Food companys and Phamacutecal companys are buying up supplement companys to make sure they get dollars from all parts of the industry, EAS is now owned by a pharmacutical company!!

It will be intresting to see what happens to Musashi , I would suggest the push will be into supermarkets, but here in NZ supermarkets have pulled back on there sport supplementts due to poor sales which i put down to no advise or guidance at the piont of sale!!

What will be intresting to us is what will happen to the Bodybuilding sponcerships as companys get brought up by giant corperates,The corperates do not see any value in sponcering such things as bodybuilding shows , thats why we dont see EAS at our shows any more, it will be intresting to see in time !!

As far as I know 5 tests came back positive, and some of those tests belonged to class winners !!!! Be intresting to see if this makes the newspapers as it did last year re Moe, or if Moe,s plight was a one off based on a vendeta, it would also be intresting to know if any of the failed competitors had any intention of attending the Worlds ???

There's definitely a huge trend towards supps companies focusing on the "general" supermarket audience. The silly thing is, as more and more sports supplement companies go mainstream, they're leaving a larger slice of the niche market for their competitors. :pfft:

You wonder why there was media interest in Moe's case? That's easy - he was Mr NZ. He was at the top of the sport - and fell. If that situation happened again, I'm sure the media would cover it. There may be room for a vendetta in terms of how the story was leaked to the media (although I'd argue "Why shouldn't it be leaked? Isn't it in the public interest to know?"). But as for why the story was run, I don't think there's anything more to it than the fact that it's a good story.

Hardcor, Just to set the record straight. The NZFBB executive meeting that was held on Sunday had nothing to do with drug testing. It was purely to discuss the coming years events. As I am one of the executives I can inform you all that if any athlete does test positive, they have one month to reply back to the drug agency.

The drug agency then informs the NZFBB that there has been a failed test, this can take up to 2-3 months before the federation has any notice of such results. So we will all just have to wait!

Allen.

Impact , Today I spoke to the NZDA as I am writing a article on Drug testing in NZ for Muscle Mag International, I questioned them on the results of the drug testing that was done at the NZFBB nationals this year, they informed me they were not abel to give any info at present due to pending futher investigations on thier findings, after futher discussion I was informed that it is the nature of the drug/drugs found in a test that allows then to deem a test failed straight away or has them having to do further investigation to deem the test failed, for example if a athlete is found with elevated testosterone levels in a test, further testing and investigation is required to be carried out which can take up to 2-3 months!!!During the course of my very intresting talk with the NZDA it was said that Imediate Drug Infringements had been found at the Nationals and that on going investigations regarding infringements was also under way, as a test to them I said that here say had the figure of failed tests at 6 for this years nationals , I was informed that this figure was wrong , I asked higher or lower, and was informed lower( a good thing), I asked if any of the individuals whom may have failed there tests had been contacted by the NZDA and I was told Yes,The NZDA were very open in there discussion on the subject(obviously not to the piont to break protocol)and admitted that Bodybuilding was a high percentage sport for failed tests for them but they beleived it would improve over time, the problem is before my conversation today I already new all this !!!

Do the NZDA really think that the positive test results will improve ? they have been drug testing for fair few years now and we always the top of the positives as well as prob the least per capita tested :):) why are we tested like an olympic sport anyway it makes no sense to me :)

NZFBB compettitors are tested to Olympic standards because the NZFBB alighned them selfs with the NZDA so they could receive huge vast sums of funding form this govt sponcered programme, problem is they never got huge vast sums of money and the quality of the bodys on show droped dramaticly so the high audeiance attendance that was previous enjoyed droped dramaticly, this in turn had a effect on the sponcership numbers and those athletes that wernt prepared to go by the new rules simply went to NABBA, hence today the financial troubles the NZFBB have today !! quiet logical realy no matter what spin any one trys to put on it !!
