Sorry!

This site is in read-only mode right now. You can browse all our old topics (and there's a lot of them) but you won't be able to add to them.

What are you interested in reading about?

I'm trying to brainstorm for some new articles and blog topics and such, and I'm never good at it. I almost always end up writing about some obscure stuff that nobody besides me and 2 other people care about.

So for a little informal market research, what kind of stuff would you guys be interested in reading about, as far as fitness/nutrition kind of topics go?

Okay, might not need a whole article but I was talking to a dude (or rather he was talking to me) about intramuscular fat.

He wasn't quite able to articulate how it was helpful for lifting but told me that it was.

The truth about supplements - there are no silver bullets etc

GPP, recovery and the modern athlete

Fatloss tactics for the morbidly obese

Eating for size

Cutting diets and water shredding pre contest

Steroids and the myths

and how about a modern action romance thriller with a dvd of all the action and sex scenes

Nutrition timing ? I know it's probably been done to death, but..

No really good topic TFB!!!

Just got a book called "Nutrient Timing - the future of sports nutrition".

I haven't had the chance to read it yet but my better half mentioned some interesting studies cited in it, such as the use of a poor protein source (such as corn) within 2 hrs post training would be more anabolic than a good protein source (such as whey) used outside this window. (details from memory!).

Sounds like a fascinating topic & of much more value than Weetbix vs. Oats!

I saw on tv that they give cows a special diet so that they get more intramuscular fat to make their meat tastier...

Um i want to read about celebrity fad diets... and how to lose 10 pounds in 2 days with no diets or exercise

:pfft: :pfft: :pfft:

JK. Ummmm...... I want to read about maintenance diet and training

That's this one - right? I've got it too, been reading it carefully.

This book also deals with timing - although some of his observations seem a bit sketchy to me.

How about a dummies guide to steroids. What/when/How/Pros/Cons/Truths/Misconceptions/FAQ/Medical studies/different types/history etc...etc...

Not that I'm interested in using but find the whole subject fascinating - and extremely confusing!

I think practical approaches to periodisation and program structure is something people that come online here often struggle with. Competence in forecasting your training and re-adjusting your mid and long term goals based on your results is a handy thing for intermeadiates to know if they want to take it to the next level.

training and over training. clarification on the fine line between too much and not enough.

understanding this would help so many out to reach maximum potential.

also sport specific.

endurance athletes, bodybuilders etc.

like specified to hourly/weekly/monthly training schedules

i dunno, prob just me. lol.

Too expand on PT's post, the importance of deload sessions/days/weeks/etc. I hadn't (intentionally) deloaded in my life before coming to this site, so for your average Joe gym-goer, it could be a valuable read.

This interests me a lot. I read in an article a very long time ago something vaguely connected to what you just mentioned. They were saying that significantly dropping your protein intake for a certain period can switch your body in to an anabolic state. I might see if I can find the book your reading in the library...

:ditto: what Drizzt and PT said... deloading, overtraining, training plans at the macro level (ie plans over months, rather than daily breakdowns).
