How do i get bigger

Wanttobebigger

Recommended Posts

Hi There

Quite simply i would like to get big. Not absolutely huge like a bodybuilder but just muscly big and fast.

Could you please give me any advice that could help me???

Like any tips or anything?

What sets and reps should i be doing?

How many exercises should i get done in one session?

Should i be doing one exercise at a time?

Should i have a warmup?

Should i be taking something???

How many days a week?

For how long each time?

etc

Any help would be great. Thanks

hey bro,

it's good that you have so many questions. basically what i'd recommend is you talk to a trainer at your gym (i'm assuming you've joined one)

if you want to get bigger you need to focus on three things: training, diet and recovery. i suggest you take a look at the advice Pseudonym has up under resources, it'll help you :)

Hi, welcome. Fast might not be what your hoping for, it can/will take years to get big. Gotta start somwhere though.

 it'll definitely take while to get big. unless you've got good genetics and/or are on steroids. but don't let that put you off 'cus it's well worth the wait :)

good day mate, good questions

Im no expert and im sure theres heaps of ppl on this website that will be able to give you more suitable advice. but basically you have to eat big to get big, what I mean by this is gaining muscle requires that you eat more calories than you burn. Get enough calories (from proteins, carbs and fats), do compound exercises, and rest (remember we grow when we rest, not in the gym).

  • 4 weeks later...

hey dude,i've been lifting for about 2yrs,started at 70kg 5'9 and ate like there was no tomorrow, lifted as much as i could really low repeats, and slept aleast 8hrs a day and smashed the protein hard, with alittle help frm good gear i stacked on 24kg in a year.i know some people would disagree with that last part but if quick gains is wot ur looking for and genetic's are like mine.it's amazing how strong and big you get in small amount of time.

How much of that 24kilos was fat and water?

I find it hard to believe those were dry gains.

Could be wrong tho Genetics can sure do wonders...

24kg in one yr.. must have been pretty good gear to go with your god like genetics. Post a before and after photo because that sounds highly unlikely that a large amount of that is not fat.

i think thats just unrealistic for a beginner lacking knowledge(as you do) in training and nutrition to put on 24 kgs of muscle in a year while staying between 12-15% body fat.

*sigh*...cheating for size and weight is overrated. i eat clean and almost never cheat and i still manage to put on fat from the volume i eat. i have an extremely fast metabolism and many 'hard gainers' typically do. i force feed so that is how.

hasnt this topic been dicussed a few times just this week?

Outstanding, I love it how one person states something, then someone else paraphrases it(barely) and pretty much says the same thing again.

Here's how to get bigger.

1>Lift heavy objects.

2>Eat lots of food.

3>Sleep lots.

4>Repeat until desired size is reached.

If you are average like most people(me) then it wont be fast.

Clearly a lot more detail can go into those steps, like training frequency/intensity, nutrient partitioning, supplementation but you don't need to worry about that. Get a basic program and go hard at it.
