the brown bread i buy is by SR and its like roughly 350 mg sodium per 2 slices. 75 gram serving. its not much, but over the whole diet its alot thru such as small serving so it has to be justified.

is there any brand thats like 200 mg per 2 slices? that would not be so bad...ive never really had a look in the supermarket, but i know thered be plenty of people that eat the stuff. so i want to see if theres a variance in the manufacturers or even if theres such a thing as "low sodium bread"(sliced of course/and brown)

i make bread for a living, and imo if you want a lower sodium bread, you wont find it in commercial breads. A bread made with sourdough or fermentation would be best, so that means buying 'specialty breads'.

i see..thats cleared a bit up. i guess i just have to compensate for the sodium in other places.

Nope. Sourdough is the bread to eat!

sounds like a good option but i want a readily available option thats affordable...sounds expensive :P

can you buy that sort of bread sliced and how much does it sell for? can you only buy this sort of bread at a bakery?

most supermarkets now do a range of specialty breads, not sure on specifics man. i would say though, any specialty brown bread will likely have less salt, and more fibre etc then any commercial bread. commercial=crap. slicing varies store to store. let us know if you find a viable one!

I used to eat alot of bread, but dont have it too often anymore.

1 thing I would recommend in replace of bread is Wheatmeal Wraps.

around 190mg of Sodium, around 20-30g Carbs and 120Cals. Thats if your counting the figures depending on your goals.

1 x Wheatmeal wrap, 200g Diced lean beef, Lettuce, Tamato, sprinkle of parmesan cheese, tablespoon of gravy = AWESOME! :D
