Syntrax Matrix 5.0 vs PVL ISO-STACK

Was fortunate to be offered a 5lb bag of Matrix recently.

Choclate flavour left a bit of an after taste but on the whole its pretty convincing given it's a low carb powder. Texture is great mixed in both milk and water and mixes very easy in a hand shaker. Mixed extremely well wth oatmeal and wasn't too bad warm.

Based on the stats:post-1275-1416682033662_thumb.gif

23g protein not bad from a mainstream powder. 75% protein per scoop.

3g carbs means its lean enough to use for conditioning and based on the aftertaste thats probably an accurate estimate of carbs. (not too sweet).

Comparible product would be PVL ISO-STACK which has an Egg albumin base also - Isostack has a 40g scoop size to achieve 30g protein. (5g carb/2g fat). The theory behind the egg base is that it breaks down slower in your system allowing for a more sustained release of protein. This is also probably why both powders mix very well in water.

Choosing between either powder for me would come down to price as I feel they are as good - although I'd rank Iso-stack slightly higher on taste (choc).

I'd rank both products at 5/5 for mixability, Matrix @ 3.5/5 for flavour with Iso-stack 4/5.

Two all round good powders
