The Direction of NZFBB in NZ

Sincere apologies Allen. I took this thread in the wrong context with my original reply. I have now got my facts right. I guess we can all learn from each other given the volitility of the federations at this time. I think a big shake down has been long overdue. None of us have all the answers but I guess if your heart is in the right place you can make a difference. Cheers, R

there are some definite changes like the inclusion of the NZNPC, there will be a definite change in some of the judges, Current judges are being asked to apply to attend a course which they must pay for pass a test and if they pass they may be selected to judge, they must also pay for the privilege of judging. the course and test i believe is not a bad idea for new judges, but to get experience judges to re apply and PAY is slightly offensive considering to become a judge you must test jude 5 shows around the country which you attend at your own cost.

It is interesting also that current judges must apply to do this course, sounds more like a culling of the NON supporters of the current management of the NZFBB. Interesting that 2 of these judges who have run for the last few yrs the most profitable regional shows in NZ also lost the right to run these shows again in 2010, once again if you don't agree with the current management your out.

last yr. i expressed on this web site my concerns with rushed rule changes, and athletes being awarded pro cards without appropriate placings at national events. since this stand i have lost (with NO written or verbal reason) the right to continue organizing the South Island Champs, I have also been Invited to "Apply" to judge this yr. this also has been the case with Kaye Onell, Kaye had expressed other concerns to the Committee that were deemed "disrespectful" by the current president.

the current president is currently carrying out the duties of President, treasurer, and secretary. and it seems that a number of the NZFBB exec either don't care or are not willing to make a stand.

That does not sound like a very democratic setup.

We sponsored a class at the nzfbb nationals in 2008, and were keen to do the same again at the 2009 nats, but when we sent emails to the people involved in running the show no one ever even got back to us.

I've got a show in Bendigo (Melb/Aust) that you can sponsor any time you like!

Good points you have raised Mike. I wonder what the criteria will be to be an NPC Judge? I expect you will be appointed 8)
