Squat Racks?

Hey I'm looking at purchasing a squat rack, saw this on trade me. But 700 dollars seems a bit expensive. Do you guys know of any stores around Wellington that sells squat racks? Or anything online?

If you've got the time and inclination, build one. Galvy pipe from Mitre 10. Or treated wood. Either will save you a lot of johnny cash

yea dont buy that one. you want one of them square box designs that you hop inside of, so you can have safety rails to bail out if need be.

that way you can MAX the f*ck out of your squats safely.

LukeK - we use those "muliti press" racks at Coast Barbell. They suit our small gym in that you can bench, incline a bench in them and squat, rack pull etc too but for our heavy work we use a decent powercage from Fitness Works.

$700 was a good price if it a good rack. The picks on this forum are good designs. If you want to buy a cheap 1 buy 1 of those made in China $350 trade me jobs maybe rated for 180kg but just rubbish. If you have a olympic bar and are loading it over 100kg you need a qaulity rack. As someone said you could make 1 out of timber hahahahaha :pfft: . Im a welder and am making 1 simular to the powerlifting cage with the bands on it in second pic on form. There is alot of work in it unlike some said easy to make everything takes time. If you where making it in a workshop it would take you a easy 40hrs I would say more I know mine has and I not up to the paint stage yet.
