Am I eating enough to gain right?

I actually get my milk free since we have around 600 cows on our dairy farms :grin:

But for some reason store bought milk gives me a really weird red peeling skin all over, but milk from our jersey cows does nothing? WTF?

Oh, and my split isn't really a classic split since I mainly stick to core lifts such as bench, military press, lots of squats, deadlifts and chinups ( just try to decided to change it up since doing starting strength and 3/4 day upper/lower splits since I've been lifting.

AND WTF 6000 calories?

pretty sure that's a bit over the top.

And not going back to eating pizza every day like I used to , occasionally I do eat 2 large pizzas from dominoes for my dinner on weekends though.

Going to start eating a can of tuna a day again soon (I was doing that until late last year) so that will probably bump my cals up a bit too.

Drinking a glass of milk with every meal is probably the easiest way Groovy. Though the possibilities are endless if you stop thinking ultra clean, low fat etc.

I'm probably talking out a hole in my arse here so everyone ignore mkay? Critics be gone, I don't love you and I'm sure it's mutual :grin: These are just some alternative suggestions.

Eat good fats. Pour olive oil on everything. Buy meat in bulk, look out for specials on anything, chicken drumsticks, whatever. Add nuts to everything. Cheese, though not exactly cheap, grated, sliced, diced. Sour cream. Cottage cheese. Avocado. Real butter. Eat whole eggs. Whatever.

For rice/pasta variations, and if you can't afford canned, beans/chick peas are cheap as if you buy in bulk and cook them yourself. Either canned or home cooked, mash with spices and olive oil or coconut cream or whatever and do whatever you like with them. Spread on a pizza base, dump a blob on rice or corn chips, add meat, veges, top off with grated cheese and sour cream. And pour olive oil on it.

Red split lentils are cheap as and really easy to cook. Cook then add coconut cream/olive oil/butter/milk/whatever and spices. You won't recognise them this way, they come out like mashed potato :P

A good curry powder or individual spices like tumeric, coriander, cumin, ginger, chilli, cayenne, can help "enhance" the flavour of your meals.

Buckwheat is cheap and easy to cook too. Cook, add nuts, cheese, whatever. Then pour olive oil on it.

Mash veges like kumara, potatoes, cauliflower, whatever, with grated cheese, sour cream, coconut cream, olive oil, nuts, etc.

Buy some pizza bases. Spread some mince or other meat on, slap some/any/all of the above on then pour olive oil on it. If you can't afford pizza bases, use rice, pasta, bread, whatever.

If you're looking for pre-made stuff in boxes or packets I can't really help you there but someone else is bound to have ideas. Frozen veges spring to mind if you CBA buying fresh.

I personally wouldn't eat sausages but they're a cheaper option if you can find ones that have anything remotely real in them.

The only thing I'd avoid is trans-fats. It's not a legal requirement to label them in NZ so watch out for "shortening" and "hydrogenated oil" on the ingredients list. I'd personally also keep a check on high sodium foods, choosing low salt options might be a good idea if this concerns you.

GOMAD milk guidelines:

Whole Milk. Full fat milk which contains 3-4% fat. Alternative names: full cream milk or homo milk.

3-4% fat. Check the nutrient data on the whole milk you buy. It should contain 3-4g fat, 3g protein & 5g carbs per 100ml.

2400 Calories. Whole milk contains 60kcals per 100ml. This accounts for 2400kcals when you drink 1 gallon whole milk.

N.B.

Milk is 87% water so you won’t need to drink that much water on top of your daily gallon of whole milk.

Nope. It's only over the top if you're scared of getting fat. You're 6 foot and 73kg. A "healthy" starting weight for 6 foot is around 85kg. And you're 17. Take advantage that.

Try 5000 calories then. When you start getting results, up it to 6000 :grin:

oh and groovy, I drink my milk full cream.. lol cbf skimming the cream off the top. probably should since our jerseys produce like 50% cream milk :S

I will do this if I don't gain 1kg/ month from now through adding 500 calories every month I don't gain.
