Calve doms

Recommended Posts

Man I thought smashed quads were the worst, Heavy calve doms a straight up debilitating. Before I can even walk, I have to slowly straighten my legs in order stretch my calves, an once I do start walking, I walk like I've got a few carrots up my ass. I knew leg doms are painful, but this feels like I'm straight up injured. I've been doing this 2 years, but only just started hitting claves, the bitches better grow if im going to be walking like this on a weekly basis. :pfft: It's really not that funny

U guys get this? or maybe just 1 or 2 weeks of shock to the muscle?

Currently get it every second week after doing high rep calves. Yep takes a couple minutes to get them freed up once you've been sitting for a while.

Tend to walk funny after completing the sets heading out of the gym. Been asked if I've injured myself.

I use to always get cramps in my calves but I went and got a deep tissue massage on them and that worked a treat but trust me it isnt a fun process was rather painfull to go through haha
got cramps? stretch your calves out post-workout, works a miracle

Both sound good to me. I often stretch before bed also, after a quick warm up. Also during training if I feel them tightening up.

Something cool to try - at the end of a big leg workout go sit down on the seated calf-raise and thrash your soleus doing continuous drop-sets to failure down from your top weight to nothing. You won't be puffed or uncomfortable you will just feel a pump in your calves. Now try get up. It's an incredibly strange feeling not feeling destroyed but not being able to walk even if your life depended on it. It's like being wheelchair bound, your legs are completely useless.
