EMC, you might want to read the reply a little more, I said if differs from one person to another!!!!!

Anyway, at least you all finally gave that poor bugger an answer to his question instead of bashing him further.

bashing? lol i dont abuse anyone. so dont put your nun acts on me. i along with everyone informed him that 1 gram per pound bodyweight is great as a beginner. your first post on this topic was not the least bit informative '1 gram per kg', thats barely even cutting it for a female athlete and you want to recommend it to a male pursuing basic strength training?

if he hasn't done strength training before, then 1 gram per kilo of bodyweight is a good place to start. not everyone can afford to eat 1 gram per pound of bodyweight on a regular basis. sure, if you can afford to eat that much protein every day then go for it, but it's not like you're not going to get results by starting out eating 1g per kg

1 gram per kg is what the body needs to maintain itself without training. eat smartly that means foods that are high in macronutrients to save on cost.

if your going to have minimium of 30 grams at the 3 important times of the day i.e when you wake up, post workout, pre-sleep thats pretty much all his protein intake whats he suppose to do during the other time? "dont need anymore protein, ive already gotten my 1 gram per kg" while his metabolism is running like crazy

1 gram of protein per kg? Christ I think the only person that would make gains on that is Ghandi.

Interesting, I wonder how many big guys ingest large amounts of incomplete proteins? Ghandi might do quite well on whey protein and an increase in his tandoor chicken.
