Hmmm, how can I put this - NO.

Looks like a big bunch of BS to me. If the so called active component does work as stated, the fact that they manufacturers don't state the nutritional breakdown or amounts of active ingredient on their site would have me think they haven't put a whole lot of it in. They also appear to have omitted the amount used in the studies with all the referances they give. Looking at the breakdown on bb.com there is a massive 9mg of their proprietary blend. 9mg! Considering it's a blend of Green Tomato SE, Grape Seed SE, Grean Tea SE, Quercetin, and Rutin, and the magic ingredient is supposed to come from the Green Tomato extract (GTE) you are probably only getting a couple of milligrams of active ingredient, which I personally can't see offering much benefit.

I also had a look into some of the studies they referenced and I must have missed something. Apparently the benefit of GTE was first discovered in 1981 in this study - 1. Booyse FM, Osikowicz, G, Radek J. Effect of nicotine on cultured aortic endothelial cells. Thromb. Res. 1981; 23: 169-185., but I can't find any mention what so ever of green tomato or GTE so can't see how this could be linked.

It's also funny that they give references to clinical studies with footnotes but the actual study they mention showing all it's benefits on muscle gain isn't actually referenced.

And since all the sudies they reference seem to be about the effects nicotine has on the endothelial cells which seems to be the main benefit of GTE I can only summise that green tomatoes contain nicotine. Further digging has uncovered that they do indeed contain nicotine (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/quer ... t=Abstract), along with potatoes and some teas.

If that's the case, and nicotine really is the magic ingredient in this product, then you're probably better off just chewing on a cigarette before training. Maybe the cigerette companies are onto something and need a new product to get people hooked on.

My advice would be save your money for something that might work for gaining muscle - like creatine, or a big old steak.

It does say

Endothil-CR is backed by a 100% no questions asked, money-back guarantee: if for any reason you're not satisfied with Endothil-CR, simply return the empty container within 30 days for a full refund.

which in some ways immediately makes me even more suspicious! :D But on the other hand, if they really will refund it, even from NZ...
