Very impressive show yesterday...extremely well organised. Ran very similar to international shows that I have attended & competed in. Sponsers very generous & nice to see competitors receive "goodies"..Good to have the powerlifting thrown in there as well - Congratulations to Dave & Lisa/Craig/Kingsley/Rod for organising a great event & look forward to more shows of this standard.

Carmen Cotter/IFBB Pro (retired)

It is nice to hear from the likes of ex-competitors such as Carmen. For anyone who is unaware of Carmen and her competitive days as an IFBB pro, she is our highest ranking female professional - placing third at the 2000 Jan Tana Pro Classic as a Heavyweight competitor. Thanks again Carmen for your comments it is great to hear these positive remarks. :)

Official Sponsorship News confirmed by Owners/Operators Wendy and Garry of Evolutionsystems and AthleteX - Auckland NZ

EvolutionSystems and AthleteX would like to confirm their continued sponsorship for ALL NABBA/WFF NZ Shows. This is fantastic news for the federation and it is a partnership that we hope will continue to grow.

From Nabba/WFF NZ and its beginnings, Evolutionsystems and AthleteX have been involved. Not only through their generosity via way of sponsorship but also towards assisting, giving feedback as well as guidance to all those who are competing, wanting information on health, wellbeing and nutrition, supplementation as well as advice about their range of sporting accessories. Garry and Wendy are holistic in their approach in all things regarding general wellbeing. They are fantastic people who are genuinely sincere and caring, and we thank them.

From the Nabba/WFF Team - thank you guys so much we look forward to a fruitful ongoing partnership.

Can someone please post up the official results for all the classes?

How did jimjim83 go? (assuming he competed)

I believe the results will be posted on the NABBA WFF sight along with pics sometime today . I must say it is great to see a NABBA NZ rep taking such an interest in the show i believe our nationals are in october if your interested. If you need any further information Andrew do not hesitate to contact myself or Missy.

Thanks for the offer but I’m looking at going back to doing NZFBB U70kg class

Well thats cool ,i thought by the questions you were asking in regards to the show that you must have had a genuine interest in the new federation and how its competitors did .

I think there are a few sad people out there that hoped this show and new federation would fall on its face . Some idiot even went as far as sending out an email saying the show was cancelled ( how immature ) These people need to take a good hard look at themself because they must have some serious issues . Any time you can get a big group of people together at a bodybuilding show and i am talking the crowd , judges, competitors and all the helpers , and they all have a good time that is a very positive thing to attend . If competitors want to compete in the same ol same ol NABBA NZ and IFBB federations that have questionable leaders then good on you thats your choice , but if your looking to compete in a positive enviroment and a federation that is more focused on the athletes rather than the officals looking after themselfs then get involved in nabba wff .

I think with the amount of hype surrounding this show it was never gonna fall flat on its face, and from what I’ve read and pictures I’ve seen it looks like it was a great success … now all you guys need to do is organise and run say at least six of these events a year plus national year in year out without any glitches (or pissing anyone off) and you’ll be perfect

LMAO at Alan & Andrew!

You two never stop, what's worse you practically live next door to each other. Maybe a conversation over a few beers in Ahuriri might be a good starting point - I'm sure Adz at the Gin Trap would referee things!!

Seriously though Al, I heard some really good things about your conditioning from someone in the know that was watching on Sat. Awesome to hear, I also heard it'll be your last comp....... :pfft: I've heard that from you too many times to believe it!

Well done.

"DING DING" Your not wrong there :pfft: Now the problem I see here in the attendance at the Gin trap is that only one of them would show up - that being Al! You could be the referree Nathan, as I - being the spouse of the larger male specie may end up being rather biased :pfft: Anyhoo, what they both have mentioned is correct - although - Andrew, there are always people out there that will be pissed off! Hell, you could be wearing the incorrect brand of shoes and they won't like it - thats just the way it is. As for ongoing shows throughout NZ, this is in the pipeline as we speak. Furthermore, having secured a fantastic sponsor for all Nabba/WFF NZ Shows in Evolutionsystems and AthleteX, this is only the beginning. Speaking of which, our sponsors sell some amazing boxing gloves, do I need to buy some? Cut it out you two - Andrew go and do NZFBB (although being a Nabba Rep Andrew do you think this is wise?) Good luck anyway - and Al - make me a cup of tea - pronto LMAO!

The only ones that get pissed of are the ones that turn up and want you to run around for them. All competitors should know by now what they have to do and any new ones need to have a very good buddy that has been through it all before they get to the show. I know that this NABBA-WFF NZ will do there damn best to make every one smile

Hey guys its great that we can debate these matters on forums like this one. In a country the size of NZ we are always going to have a bit of a poke at the other guy. After all we all know each other & we are all passionate about where our particular Federation is going. ATM we just have to accept that there are many things changing in our community. Ok we have been fortunate enough to have managed to pull out a good first up effort. We all worked very hard to do this. There are many things we still have to achieve & as Andrew points out we still need to prove ourselves long term. To do this we will run two more shows this year. Its not ideal that the Nationals are again in Christchurch. We would have liked to be able to run out of Wellington or Auckland but at this point in time our infrstructure & organisation does not allow this. Maybe next year we will be able to offer events in the NI. In the meantime I urge positive & active competitors at all levels to consider coming along with NABBA/WFF. Our Nationals are on Sat 2 October - 21 weeks away, a perfect pre contest buildup period. There is no qualification to compete at the Nationals but they will qualify top athletes for NABBA Universe & WFF Worlds. We will be sending some people away to these events with some financial backing. we hope it will be another great show & we look forward to having many more coming along from around the country & Australia.

Thanks for all your support & kind words to date,

mnz

"A BIG Aussie thank you, and most of all congratulations you should all be very proud of your combined efforts.

Your teams hospitality and friendliness we're exceptional to say the least, the guys had a fantastic trip home and we are now planning our next NZ trip for Marks September show in Blenheim.

I was personally impressed by the standard of your NZ athletes that you had assembled for this inaugural event, so much so that I would now encourage and invite your Overall winners to participate in my International show here in Melbourne on May 23rd.

Kingsley, further I am prepared to offer each Overall winner a cash incentive of $A500 each to assist their traveling costs across the ditch to my show.Once again I am over the moon by your teams support and enthusiasm, it will only get bigger.

Kind Regards

Bingo!! Good to see someone understands what I was getting at without resorting to name calling or trying to belittle what others do.(in ref to competing in nzfbb or nabba nz)

Anyone that organises & runs a good body building show no matter what fed has my full respect as I know first hand it’s not an easy thing to do.

I must add that our International President Graeme Lancefield is the man-tis :pfft: Very approachable, he goes out of his way to speak to all competitors and finds the time to sit down and have a good natter to everyone involved in this sport. Being an ex-competitor, he also knows how difficult it is prepping for a show. Not many people can say that they have stepped on stage with the likes of Arnold!! A mean feat in itself.

His team were fantastic, Mark Ryan was a bit of a joker (funny guy) and his lads, Phil, David, Jimmy and Blair were very friendly. It was a pleasure having them here and we look forward to seeing them again for Mark Andersons Show in Nelson.

Rightio, there is more work to do now, but we are looking forward to the remaining competitive year. Further to this, our lass Neralee will be taking on the Aussies in Melbourne very shortly and we will be there to assist where we can.

AllenNZ, can you ask Maree to get in touch with me please bud - cheers mate.

Train hard everyone :)
