wow these are all questions that may or may not have been answered, I thought this was a forum to ask questions.

Not a bitter whatever.

You get defensive with straight questions get used to it you the main people who run this show.

If you are dumb enough to pay 100 dollars to enter an aus show good for you.

As to my original questions I shall ask MuscleNZ as he is one of the organisers by the way it not very professional hand clapping as a main executive Muscle when you get asked questions about your organisation :naughty:

Agent86 you stick to supporting australia.

There is a product your local GP can prescribe you called Prozac.

Q1. Is this a World Qualifier for NABBA and WFF?

A Yes this is a qualifier for both these events

i.e. 27th NABBA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 19th of June 2010

BUGIBBA / MALTA

& WFF UNIVERSE 5th of June 2010

KATERINI / GREECE

Q2. Are you only funding the Aus Shows?

A No it is not our intention to only fund competitors to shows in Australia however this is a great stepping stone, there are a number of shows we are looking at funding athletes to both Australian shows and those shows that we are a qualifier for

The decisions on funding will be based on a number of things

#1 are the competitors’ of a standard worthy of representing NZ

#2 are the competitors’ available to attend the shows

#3 are the competitors’ able to top up the funding to be able to

Financially make it viable,

with funding it is important that it is not spread to thin and nor put all in one basket, having looked at the quality of the competitors and sat with our international judging panel as well as the world president the decisions will be made,

Q 3. Do athletes get selected for the WORLD events at this show or have they been selected already?

A there have already been shows that have qualified some competitors’ to some of the shows, but there will be the opportunity to qualify at this show!

Q4. How come on the NABBA International site you do not register as the NZ rep

A As we have only recently added a NABBA/WFF show to the New Zealand calendar and there has not been a NZ president nominated/voted upon. We fall under the jurisdictions of the world president Graeme Lancefield until such time (Oct 2010) that an official Committee can be voted upon,

Q5. If an athlete pays there registration 1 July 2010 then they would not be current members of NABBA and could not compete at the Worlds

A this is correct we have made available the option to pay now or anytime before the 1st of July and to hold your membership until the first of July 2011 thus giving an extra couple of months membership for no$ if in fact there are athletes who are not paid up but have qualified to compete overseas then this would need to be rectified, please note it is still a requirement that any competitor fills in a membership to NABBA/WFF NZ it is only the payment that we have delayed :)

6. I was under the impression that this organisation was set up specifically to support athletes for the worlds and universe shows, has this changed to filling up the Aus shows?

A this organisation was set up to Support the athletes full stop! everyone has different goals and to state that an organisation could run solely to cater to the elite would be ludicrous, novice and local competitors’ are just as important to us as our finest competitors’ and there is no favouritism

7. Are you going to fund the Aus trip or just making noise, if so it should be stated clearly that at the end of the show a ticket will be produced

A as a prize for the glamour class winner we will be funding flights to Mark Ryan’s show in Queensland where there is a $5000 prize for the winner of the class, sorry no the ticket will not be available at the show but I could post a picture of it once it is purchased if you would like ?

Q8. $80 dollars is a huge entry fee even for a cheap bag and t/shirt.

A although this seems to be a statement and not a question I shall make comment for you :) The price of entry to the show is definatly larger than most other bodybuilding shows in New Zealand, however I would like you to pose this question to any one who competes at the show - did they get value for money?, please report back to us with your findings,

Also on this topic the price of entry for this event is still on the cheep side when you compeer it to many other sporting events (how much are the yearly subs at the local rugby club? how much is it to enter a triathlon?)

All just points to consider!

9. Good luck with your show

Thanks and good luck with your training this year

Thank you for the invite Ann however I have moved on from all of this I wanted to know the questions I asked above and was given a propmt reply.

I do not wish to be involved with shows or judging however health permitting would be looking to organise a team to compete in the near future.

As to show selections it now comes down to areas available and costs, hence questions asked.

I have at present a minimum group of BBers of at least 6 including myself, who are looking around at shows but they are in the same boat only interested in locl comps close to home Manawatu if you are asking.

This would mean Central Cities areas Welly,HBay,Manawatu

Have a good day :)

Hope your health permits you to get on stage and that your team of competiters have a fantastic year of competition,

if you know of somebody/s reliable and keen to take on the challange of orgainising a comp for your area (or any cities) i would be interested to chat to them about the posibilities that are created when doing so with NABBA-WFF, :) we would love to beable to give a full nation wide calender next year and its time to start thinking about that now :)

plenty of help and support offered by a more than helpfull team

Basically you are saying that all these competitors who pay $80 to enter this show are dumb. What a pathetic comment. I pay $150 per show for tanning products. I suppose that makes me dumber or is it just being committed to competing.

We will see who is stupid enough to turn up on the day and pay this exhorbitant amount!

Do I support Australia? I helped run the Nabba NZ Wellington show last year so I am split between both federations.

Be honest, your post was more about shit stirring than asking valid questions. Maybe the opposition is getting worried that this show might be a success.

Have a good day!

86 I wouldn't bother with him - he's not quite sure whether he is NZResident or NZResident1 :pfft: or perhaps hes NZResident2? Who knows, lets get on with the show. Neralee, Annette, Richard Parnham, Darren Farrow, Nuria Novoa etc, great physiques, great people - and all competing in the Nabba/WFF Christchurch Show. Then not to mention the guys from Christchurch - Rod, Dave, Kings, etc. Our Aussie friends and International President Graeme Lancefield, Phil Muscat, Blair Loveday, Brian McNichol, David Boscaglia. Not forgetting - now over 22 sponsors, fantastic judges in Garry Jones, Mark Anderson, Leeanne and Alex Simays - and some other chick - ummm whats her name?? LOL. Let it be matey - we've got a show to attend, plus the athletes have got prizes, and a shitload of gifts to take home - oh - and also eat.

Hope to see you there 86

Take care

Miss

For the last time not an official

Not stirring was after info

Got the correct info from Sportguru if I have further questions I know who to ask.

Sounds like the three of you should pull your heads in as offcials and leave the answers to Sportguru who actually had the right answers I have said good luck to the show organisers.

If anything some of you as NEW officials need to grow up.

OK guys just to get this thread back on track, we are finalising many of the important behind the scenes details to help make this show a great one. We are very aware we are under the spotlight from the BBing Community around NZ. We are just a group of passionate BBers who wanted to offer people greater opportunities to compete nationally within the jurisdiction of a a proper International Federation & at the same time offer a whole new range of categories with World Federation of Fitness. So instead of endless talking & moaning we decided to do something about it & with the support of the Aussies we have got NABBA/WFF up & running in NZ.

Its been a huge task to pull this one up in a short time frame & we expect that there will be some areas where we could improve on & a few teething problems on the day. We have a great bunch of top athletes competing & some expert judges & officials from Australia, plus a few of us local cowboys. So I urge all the Christchurch community to please get in behind us & come out to Kaiapoi High School Auditorium this Saturday & check us out for yourselves. You will not be locked inside all day as its a very informal format we are using. The NABBA classes will be run starting at 12 noon followed by a break where we have a display & record breaking attempt from our Powerlifting friends from Eastside Barbell Club. Then we will be running through the WFF categories & finishing with the NABBA & WFF Overalls, although there may be some slight variation on the final running order. We have coffee, food, entertainment & sponsors products & displays to enjoy during the course of the afternoon & an after party down at the Kaikanui Hotel from about 5pm.

My sincere thanks to all those around the country that have supported us in this endeavour & especially to those that are coming to CHC to help out as officials & support crew. All of these people have done this at their own expense & shows the dedication & passion these people have for the sport. I'm not going to mention names but you all know who you are & how important you are too us. Without your loyal support we could not have done this.

Kind regards to everyone here on NZBB,

mnz

Plenty of hard work been put in and I am sure it will be a good show. Good luck to all those competing.

The big days nearly here!

Hoping it all runs smoothly Rod, Dave & Kingsley - I think the one show format (as I've seen in Aus) will set the standard for what a show should be. Will be intetrested in seeing if others choose to follow and dump that archaic day/night show format!

Sounds like some pretty sharp competitors - rumours of a beast of a man from Chch set to hit the stage!! Not to mention some freak bench displays from ESB.

Best of luck to all competitors!
