How do you HAVE your oats

From what I understand your need to heat oats to 80C before all carb's are digestible otherwise you'd just be getting a heap of fibre. So you should probably be cooking them some how before you eat them. I eat 'em anyway, nearly always for breaky and a great addition to pre or post work out meals/shakes.

this sounds interesting. as much as id like to believe what researches and scientists have to say(no moron), you gotta realise that mother nature answers everything. anything walking or naturally found on mother earth can be eaten raw...whether theres negative health affect about doing that, thats another issue.

if you eat a banana without cooking it are you only eating the fibre in it ?lol. or rice as a more direct exmaple rice grain, you could eat rice grain all day long and thered be nothing wrong with that. but i would love to have a look at your sources of information.

It's just something I remember from a uni lecture sometime back. Even so, you can not compare the monosaccharides in a banana to the polysaccharides of a grain. It's almost like comparing d-glucose to cellulose. You'll tell me next that you can eat grass (no moron). Considering we have lost the use of our appendix might tell us something to, lost since cooking/milling/processing.

Most of today's oats on shelves have already gone through a heat treatment at least once to release the groat from the husk. Then fine slicing and heating again to produce quick cook oats leaves little left of what is found in nature and makes digestibility so much easier and even possible. So eating 'raw' oats is probably fine since they have probably already been exposed to high temps.

Sorry, can't think of what lecture but I'm now keen to find out. Something to do tomorrow I guess.

But I do like you think you can eat "anything walking or naturally found on mother earth" You can't even digest lettuce, or other fibre, though it is necessary for a healthy gut. Yes you can eat anything but what it does for you is a different story. You can eat rocks not that I'd suggest you do.

3/4 cup of raw oats mixed with a pot of yoghurt for breakfast. Have done for over two years. Different flavored yoghurt means it tastes different everyday and I dont get sick of it. I think there is probably more sugar in Freshnfruity than I need though.

Mmmmm, I actually crave this in the mornings now. It's the main thing holding me back from the Anabolic diet :pfft:

Hmm, I feel ya bro, it's definitely a sacrifice.

Thusly, oats are the first feed on a Sunday pm, the only time of the week I take in carbs. Pretty basic recipe for me, oats, full milk, choc PP, sultanas, into the nuking device for a coulpe of minutes, then slice a banana on top.
