Smokers lol

I can see your point but people intentionally harm themselves by smoking cigerettes. Atleast cars do something and get you to places faster and such. What does smoking do? Any benefit other than "It's mean as when you're having a drink bro." ? (Which isn't a benefit ofcourse lol)

People intentionally harm themselves with a lot of things, like knives and razor blades. Should we ban either of those because of the potential for abuse? By the way, cars are a deadly weapon with a HUGE potential for abuse. Anyone behind the wheel of a car can in my opinion not be called unarmed. A car can be a deadly weapon.

By the way Rose, I agree on the healthcare issue. I think with our system of healthcare, the healthy people that actually care about what they ingest (most of this forum I would say) end up paying for the lardasses who won't ever lift a finger to fix their obesity.

Knives and razor blades can be dangerous, so can cars... But I would like to think that most of society uses them wisely without endangering others, sure there are some. But some use them for their benefits; Cutting meat, shaving, traveling etc. Smoking though..?

Smoking reduces your risk of Parkinson's disease. Table sugar (sucrose) has no micronutrients in it and it just makes you hungrier. Should we ban sugar?

Well, if you put it that way sure :D I don't even have that much use for sugar LOL. Nah I get your point... Smoking is still bad and annoys people... :) - I get second hand smoke from people just walking some places... Never see sugar being thrown at me or being put on my food :pfft:

Jokes mate, whatever. Each their own!

(would definitly rather have lung cancer or oral than parkinsons  :pfft: )

Haha, no hard feelings, just advocating my view. Nobody likes having smoke blown in their face (unless it's some kind of erotic thing? Rule 34, etc), I just think most smokers generally respect the rights of non-smokers and that a law change for smokers is not necessary.

Yeah true bro, guess just us non smokers take it to heart lol. Yeah, let them live their lives I guess eh. They prob think the same shit about us lol.

Personally, I don't see how smoking can affect muscle gain/recovery/growth blah blah.

to some extent i agree. some people claim studies have shown that smoking can cause a dramatic reduction in testosterone levels, but i cant find specific evidence

can't see how youre going to gain an extra couple grams of muscle by quitting smoking!?!

When people stop smoking their appetites jump!

If you replace your smokes with steaks you shouldnt have a problem putting on a couple "grams" of muscle lol :D

Absolutely dispise and hate being at the gym next to someone who has just put out a fag as they entered the gym, the smell is foul!!!!

Oh god yeah, that's gross. There is a group of guys who I sometimes see in the evenings and at least one of them is a smoker. He smells like he's been smoking in the same t-shirt all day, then comes to the gym and works out in it. Stale vile stench with sweat added on top if it.

Never been a cigarette smoker, never wanted to. Tried it when I was young and didn't see the attraction, so never tried again. I hate walking around/through smokers, the ones that annoy me the most are those who "smoke and walk" down busy streets, talk about sharing the love!

I do however, find myself impartial to the odd celebratory cigar here and there 8) Bought a few Cubans on my way back from Australia last trip, this meant I had to buy a humidor to store 'em but meh, will hopefully add to the collection soon.

It does sound hypocritical, but I don't do it around people who don't like it, i.e. I had one with a mate at his house after he had his first baby - not around the baby of course! I haven't somked any away from home. And obviously it isn't a regular occurrence.

Anyway, I think Cigars - especially good ones - can be enjoyed :smoke:

Niiice mate, looking a bit more full than my humidor, I've only got 5 left in mine, seems like such a waste of space. What's your favourite?

I smoked cigarettes for 17 years, and can honestly say that raising the prices had f*ck all to do with the amount that I smoked. All it meant was that I sacrificed something else. And switched to rollies. Face it, nicotine is an addictive drug, expecting that raising the price will lead to people quitting is ridiculous. Yes a few people who were already thinking about it will decide it's the right time, but that's all. Does raising the price of P lead to people quitting? As Dennis Leary said, "You keep raising the prices, we'll break into your fucking houses to get the money to buy the cigarettes".

Ultimately the only thing that enabled me to quit was the fact that I reached a point where I actually wanted to quit. For myself. I just didn't want to smoke anymore, and just like that, I was a non-smoker. I went cold turkey, and haven't touched a cigarette in over 7 months. Previously, I'd tried quitting a few times, but always for some external reason, the price, bad example for the kids, yadda yadda yadda, but it was only when I reached a point where I just didn't want to smoke that I was able to quit.

As for banning smoking in public, ffs, the smoke-nazis have every building in the country, the planes, the trains, the buses, areas around schools & hospitals, the 3m around every entrance to a building, even the bars (including cigar bars ffs). Ya can't have everything. Do I enjoy walking past someone puffing away? No. I actively dislike the smell of cigarete smoke now (and wonder how I enjoyed it for so long), but I refuse to turn into one of those ex-smokers on a crusade. Should people smoke? No. Do I like people smoking? No. Will I do everything I can to discourage my kids from smoking? Hell yes. But at the end of the day, smokers are going to smoke, it will always be "cool" to smoke, and at last if they're doing it outdorrs, the dangers of second hand smoke are probably less than walking past a bus as it shits out a big cloud of black exhaust fumes, or any of the other forms of air pollution we put up witrh every day.

Fine Cuban cigars on the other hand, are a luxury. And anyone who doesn't like them can take it up with Arnie

a fucked up Amy Winehouse.

Bit of an oxymoron there isn't it? :pfft:

Is Amy not a fucked up diseased looking ho covered in scabs? Admittedly she's looking a bit more together lately but, uh, that's probably just because she's covered the shit bits etc.

Ah, true. I was working on the assumption she's not always fucked up, as there have been (brief!) freak instances where she's looked rather clean. I didn't want to be too mean, you know.

Anyway, fine cigars are class. And so are pipes. Cigarettes are still the diseased ho's of tobacco.

Smoking is fucking disgusting, period!

But I am worried how the government is passing all these social issue bills instead of trying to drive the economy. Can't smack your kids, can't smoke, soon it will be can't drink, what's next???

Other thing that gut me is some guy shoots some dogs and they pass a can't shoot your dogs bill straight away, sure shooting your dogs like that is wrong, but when mother fuckers go out murdering & raping, why don't they quickly pass tougher laws? Why the heck do dogs get a law passed that quick but humans can't.

YUK cigars STINK 10000000000 times worse than cigarettes!! I worked in bars for years in the UK and there were always old men smoking cigars at the bar, they were superglued to the place stinking and blowing smoke in your face ewwwww!

Yeah a room full of cheap cigar smoke would be gross.

I hate filth sticks with a passion. For me 2nd hand smoke will set off asthma, when I aren't around smokers my inhalers will expire and get thrown out never having been used. As a teenager after my Dad quit smoking I became extremely competitive in the 100, 200, 400, 800, 1500 and 5000. The smokers that have been a major part of my adult life showed no regard for how their filthy habit affected other people around them. Like an ex-girlfriends sister who would blow smoke in my face because it was funny to watch me start to struggle to breathe. Then there was my 1st wife who would spend the last $10 we had on filth sticks rather than on milk and bread for our kids
