ok...so some weird shit been going on....I'm 32 and just found out i'm menopausal  ...WTF!! I have been training for 'bout 6 years (for the feel goods). I'm 159cm and sit comfortably around 66kg, 17% bf...BUT...lately all the numbers are going up despite no major change in nutrition and training regime...was wondering if anyone can offer advice/treatment/magic fern root i can chew to help....or maybe shed some light on how and/or if this phase affected your training..... :shifty:

yeah...a few factors, strong family history....also could be result of past chemotherapy treatments....but no real clear one reason. It is apparently more common then people think.

Main health concern as a result from the doctor is Osteoporosis and normally infertility, but i am lucky to have children already.

Hi. Can you be a bit more specific about what you're trying to achieve? I have some advice, but before I go into detail I want to know if it's relevant to your situation, so that I'm not giving you useless information.

Are you on any medication?

Are you just trying to relieve symptoms or looking to manage excess estrogen in order to lose fat?

What's your diet like? Please post an average day if you can.

Do you drink coffee or tea?

Do you take any kind of supplements, vitamin or otherwise?

Do you exercise? How often and what type?

Etc.

Sorry if the questions seem a bit invasive but more info helps.

Cool as!

I'm not on any medication. My diet is pretty clean 6 meals a day, i tend to cycle my carbs, max 100g/day and min 25g/day - i've found this works good for me...

a typical day (lower carb day)

oats & Whey,

Protein Shake

Chicken & Greens (salad or Veges)

Protein shake

Chicken/fish & Greens

egg white omelette

on higher carb days i have fruit with the Protein shakes and Kumara or rice at lunchtime..

no supps, add in flaxseed oil if my daily fats are looking on the low side but try to keep fat 30g max a day

I have a treat meal once a week - nothing over the top though

I drink black coffee - no more than 3 a day and i enjoy peppermint & green tea as well

I train regularly - Weights + Cardio

I do a 4 day split - lifting and I run 30 -40mins 6 morns a week

I also teach group fitness classes 3 Pump classes and 3 Spin classes a week

training has been very much part of my lifestyle for a numbers of years.

I was thinking about competing this year (before i got the hormone news confirmed) but generally i have always trained to 'feel healthy, strong and test my own fitness boundaries.

Symptoms that are smashing me at the moment is lack of sleep and chronic fatigue - i get the mean hot flushes also - but the lack of sleep and fatigue are the biggest things at the moment.. so i guess because i have always been fairly active and like to feel fit and healthy - it's doing my head in that i am always feeling tired but can't seem to sleep!

any advice to help would be appreciated. :?
