None. You need to find what works for your own body, everybody is different so no one diet type works.

In saying that I was swinging towards the caloric deficient diet

yep I agree, different things work for different people, I seem to function well with bugger all carbs but alot of people can't, a calorie deficit needs to be in there for you to lose weight, I noticed you've changed the poll and added more answers now!

Hey Vee

Yes I'm on a mission to find out what worked for most people, atleast we get a rough idea if on the right track. I've heard rose saying its always calories first then comes macros, in that case I was wondering a balanced diet with caloric deficit wouldn't that work just as good as a low carb extreme type diets?

Yeh, I guess for gaining or keeping muscle you still need high protein, like higher than the average person, I think it's 1.6 grams per kg of body weight is about right. Then slap in your carbs and fats on top of that, if you eat proten, carbs and fat at all 6 or how many meals you have a day you will keep a nice balance. Ditching carbs you tend to lose alot of weight but it's usually just water and you tend to lose strength when going low carb anyway, so it depends what you want to do really!

That sounds interesting, going low carb and high fats I thought the main reason is to make body use the bodyfat as main fuel coz cutting all carbs and also to spare muscle? If the lost weight is just water and that just means once you get a bit of carbs in all that water is gonna come back anyway.

What really want to do is to decrease bodyfat without loosing much muscle.

Balanced diet(stronglift.com diet 5x5) combined with HIIT or LISS

or

Very low carb(anabolic/dave palumbo/keto) combined with LISS - vee, you said most weight lost this way could just be water.. ?

I believe water is stored with carbs so when going low carb, you tend to go 'flat' with water loss. You lose fat on these diets too, don't get me wrong!

I didnt see the Piet in that list...

Is that what your on at the mo GA? It seems to work for many people! Including my husband who is offically at 19% BF from the piet plan.

Nar your husband needs to add some coke into his diet, inorder to maintain leaness. The caffeine in coke is extremely thermogenic see.....

The pietis taking a shit on all these other weak ass diets, real talk.

Read this at stronglifts.com, I was just about to get a full breakdown of my macros but I have a strong approximation of how much I'm eating a day but according to stronglifts you don't need to count calories if seeking fat loss??

Don’t waste your time counting calories: you won’t get fat eating unprocessed foods. Just eat your stomach full and prepare your own food so you have total control over the ingredients. Aim for 2-3% fat loss per month.

I find table pushbacks are pretty effective.

? What is that? Or you just taking the piss eh?

When eating at the table, only eat what you need and push back the plate instead of continuing to stuff your face. This is by far the reason most people are over weight. They can't do table push backs :pfft: :pfft:
