creatinine levels

i have been taking creatine regularly and have to get a blood test done in the next couple days for medical reasons. does creatine supplementation affect the levels of creatinine?

IMO I think it really depends how efficient your kidneys are and how much youre taking. I have regular blood tests at work for liver and kidney function (every 6 months, work with large amounts of chemicals) and have never returned an out of range creatinine level while on ~5g a day.

But on the other side of the "everybodies different" coin I think psuedo recently posted his post diet results which showed elevated creatinine levels most probably due to his creatine supplimentation.

Not really an issue either way as long as you tell your doc when he points it out and he can just look at the other renal function markers instead of creatinine concentration :nod:

I have had my blood test taken about a half year ago and it was out of the range after creatine cycle. So I spent a lot of time explaining it to bureaucratic freaks

on an interesting but irrelevant note- creatinine is tested for when they test people for meth use.

I wouldn't really listen to a doctor about something like this. They receive a pretty tiny amount of training on nutrition. Which is funny, because Hippocrates knew the impact food has on health.
