can any one shoot me any ideas for quality snacks.

currently im eating mixed nuts , raw veges, protein shakes and thats about the extent of my knowledge toward snacks.

Currently im dieting hard , trying to drop some more fat before my next kickboxing fight.

Any ideas that will give me a low cal thrill, or high protein boost, I would

appreciate it.

I do have a sweet tooth , but am wary of extra calories.

I did notice a few ideas for like protein cookies n stuff.

But as I mentioned I would like some more ideas .

Cheers

Tuna, chop chop chicken, beef jerky, protien bars/musli bars. Already made for you and excellent for a rushed snack. Or cook up a big batch of pasta or rice and chuck it the fridge so when you get peckish there is always something to munch on :)

yep as timinatir said, canned foods such as tuna and chop chop chicken are a good option, although chop chop is overpriced IMO and tastes shite

I pre make oatmeal/Tuna pancakes using oatmeal, tuna, egg white, protein powder and broccollislaw I also make version replacing out the tuna with dried fruit. Size can be varied according to whether you want a meal or a snack. I freeze mine and pull out what I intend to use that day.

I've been making my own oaty bars which are absolutely delicious and really easy. I just keep most of them in the freezer and a couple in the fridge so I've always got one when I need one (great for rushed breakfast or to pop in my gym bag for an after workout snack - more or less the same as oats and protein powder but with a bit of peanut butter added).

I just use 2 cups oats softened with just enough water, 4 scoops protein powder (American scoops) - whatever flavour you like, about half a cup of peanut butter, then add any nuts or whatever you like - just a handful or so should be enough. Mix together, add a bit more water if you need - but be careful not to put too much or your bars will be soggy. Put it in a tray lined with baking paper or glad wrap, the put in the freezer for about half an hour or so. Then cut to whatever size you like and store in fridge til you want to eat (or freezer to last longer). They're brilliant!

I bake protein brownies once a week.

1C Oats

1.5C Protein Powder

1/4C Milk Powder

1/4C Cocoa Powder

4T Peanut Butter

2 Egg Whites

Blends dry ingredients. In another bowl, whisk egg whites until frothy. Fold into dry mixture. Melt peanut butter and mix into mixture. Add 1/4 C water for a more sticky consistency then spread onto a lined tray. Bake for 10 mins.

Delish!! The above only makes about 4/5 servings but they're large.

Nuked Cheese

Really simple to make:

1 slice of cheese (I like about 100g Edam)

Freshly ground Black pepper to taste.

Mixed herbs (optional)

Place the cheese on a plate. Grind pepper onto cheese. Sprinkle herbs onto cheese.

Place plate of cheese in microwave. Nuke on high for approx 4 minutes. Allow to stand for 30 - 60 seconds. Chow down.

Yeah I thought it would be weird too, suprisingly they taste good. I don't leave out for the week now without them. I just noticed that I had forgotten to add cottage cheese to the list of ingredients

Do you use unflavoured protein, VC? Or recommend a certain flavour?
