weather and training

is there anyone that can explain to me why days like these is hard to train in? its hard to breathe feels like the air is thick and force feeding is that much more of a challenge. humidity this morning was 93% but came down to 60% in the afternoon so not so extreme. (auckland)

people like me that do the same routine eat the same way sleep the same way warm up and stretch the same way know that you dont have 'bad days' its only over training that messes you up. but i found that days ive had bad workouts its been hard for me to eat breathe and with extremely bad weather.

is there a scientific explanation with the weather affecting your training?

if uv got a problem, ask ur doctor. this site aint shouldn't be for pansies innuhnet toughguys, wannabe experts or idiots who don't stop to think before typing a rubbish response to a genuine query.

With all due respect, as someone who recently posted that respect is earned, how about fathoming that respect is earned by showing others respect and giving out quality, helpful advice. You help make this site orsum gymsta, yeah!

And no I'm not on the fucken rag. Honesty and/or bluntness != PMT

EMC- if you're concerned about humidity and training, take a look at this

http://www.healthcentral.com/asthma/c/5 ... ity-asthma

apparently people arent very understanding of my question but i guess that no one experiences this so it must be only me. i just started using my enhalers to see what will happen. ive always only had a mild asthma and never used them.sometimes weather conditions affects me more...perhaps this is the answer...

thanks for the link.

Try having a look at the NZ Asthma Foundation website above. There's some info on the site re identifying triggers and managing your asthma. Naturally there are other resources, and I found a study or two, but the studies relate to exercise induced asthma and humidty was not proven to be a trigger, rather "Increasing the humidity at ambient temperatures significantly blunted the response, and by inhaling body temperature, fully saturated air completely prevented it from occurring."

I used to have asthma when I was younger.

If you're on a preventative like flixotide or whatever, just use it religiously. Most people get lax about using their preventatives apparently and thats where the problems start. If your using an inhaler for relief you have failed to prevent the onset in the first place.
