Well, NABBA Counties Manukau 2010 was a good show. Lots of competitors, and some great physiques. The Teenage/Junior Men's classses were particularly impressive - scary to think what some of those guys will look like in a few years time!

From the audience's point of view, the pre-judging seemed pretty well organised. I wasn't looking at my watch, but both the pre-judging and finals seemed to start more-or-less on time. Eftpos at the door would have been nice for those of us who pay for everything with plastic now, but I guess that's a relatively minor niggle.

Despite the numbers, a lot of classes were judged simultaneously on stage - I can only guess they were concerned about time? That's fine, but it would help to have some directions from the head judge about which competitors were in which class. I hope the judges knew, because the audience sure didn't!

It's always hard to predict audience numbers (especially with refugees from the NZFBB's meltdown coming across), but it felt like NABBA wasn't expecting such a large competition. The evening show was absolutely crammed. The aisles were full of people who couldn't get a seat - and even they were packed in like sardines. Hawkins Centre seems like a good venue, but maybe next year NABBA needs to look for a larger place. You can't have a sell-out crowd, and let the competitors in, and still have seats for everyone. If I'd bought a ticket and had to spend the night standing in a very squashed aisle, I don't think I'd be happy. Still, let's not complain that there are too many people coming to competitions now!

All in all, it was a really nice night. There were families with kids wrapped up in blankets, and the audience clapped along with the posing routines. Warm fuzzies all round. Aww, bless.

Have to say, in my opinion as a competitor is was run very well and smoothly. It made my first experience to the stage very enjoyable and has encouraged me to pursue it further :) .

Even though looking at the pictures I can see a lot of work needs to be done which I am more than ready for, plus I didnt realize how much of a pimp squick I was compared to the others :pfft:

OMG  This was my first time going to a bb champ (the one in Counties)

It was unbelievable! Everyone was defined (to some degree) and I LOVED it! I felt like a lil kid going to disney land for the first time, it was O for OSUM! lol. Dare I say, magical even. I loved the routines and the host was funny. Aww man. It was so good. Haha, real noob talk but man, I never knew how so much better they are in real life. It was motiviation x 100 (I'm hoping to compete next year). HI 5 to the event organisers and well done to all the competitors. lol.

Was teenage men. Came fourth tied with two others.

Might look into acquiring your services Mike for a couple of sessions.
