Just seen this on BIGKIWI'S site

JUST OUT OF CURIOUSITY, HOW MANY OF YOU BODYBUILDERS THAT ARE ON STERIODS WOULD BE INTERESTED IN COMPETING FOR NZFBB IF THEY INTRODUCED A CLASS OR RAN A SEPERATE PRO-QUALIFIER THAT WOULD NOT BE DRUG TESTED AT CERTAIN EVENTS

Interesting question, I suppose you should put up a poll on NZBB board and ask a similar question, haven't even promoted this forum yet so prob not enough people to ask here yet.

One thing that I do say is just because you are drug tested does not mean you don't take steroids or other performance enhancing drugs

I agree i think that the tested drugs in NZ could be easily skipped, not only by just doing a growth cycle ages prior to a comp and be clean at the comp where you might be tested. but as far as I know the testing for the comps is rather rudementary and probably wouldn't cover any designer sups out there.

I agree it is all about compromise so all can compete and achive there goals --- "the pickings are to slim to start sorting them into to flavours" if you know what i mean !! If you are on the gear cool if not then cool , there is a place for all in my house !!!

I agree hrdcor, lets face it how can you become a pro if you are natural. That is being naive to the extreme yet everyone is entitled to that dream of going where you are.Can you even imagine any of our male athletes getting in the top 3 at the World Champs?Moe finished 7th so God help the rest because there is no one in his class in New Zealand.

Unfortunately the NZFBB is affiliated to the IFBB's constitution which requires all members to be part of a drug testing programme. The funny thing is that no one from the IFBB actually audits the affiliated countries to ensure they are following the rules. That is why some IFBB affiliated countries do not test.Under the IFBB rules we are supposed to test our bodybuilders just prior to going to the worlds. This has not been done for the Womens Worlds for the last 2 years.I wonder why?Apart from the fact there was no money to pay for the tests(requested tests are not funded by the NZSDA) the IFBB rules state that the test results have to be provided at the registration?

I would also like to point out that the Sports Drug Agency annual report would be pretty slim if it wasn't for the bodybuilders who provide the Agency with about 80% of the positives. How stupid can you get when bodybuilding is just a hobby and is not even fully recognised (by way of meaningfull financial assisstance) as a sport. Why are we doing this?Have we got level playing fields with the other countries or do we soldier on taking our hidings manfully(or womanly)Good stuff Hrdcor

NZ is one of probibly none that blanket drug tests, plus has a out of competition testing programme !! The rest of the world bascily only test there athletes going to the worlds, even then they have to pay for there own tests ,and the tests are usualy not up to full IOC standards, AND the tests results ARE meant to be presented at registration at the show( this stops the crap that the likes of moe had to go thruogh after he had competed)Most countries only send those whom 1 who put themselfs forward for nomition and 2 are prepared to pay there way!!

The USA does not test at amature level(NPC) or pro level and does not follow the drug testing code at all , and they wrote the damm thing, Most countries offer there national champions direct accsess to pro status and this is the route they usualy take.

Have you seen the world champs this year !!!!!! the world champs drug free, I dont think so !!!

Aussie only sends one or 2 to the worlds a year under there own way, they dont drug test there amature shows !!

Just as a comment, what is the difference between an athlete taking supplements (whatever the type) and the girls who are getting performance enhancing implants. You can"t tell me that these girls do not have an advantage up non stage. Whether you're prepared to spend several thousand dollars on supplements or implants, it all comes down to performance enhancing, doesn't it.

On another point, if an NZFBB National title holder is wanting to apply for a pro card but has tested positive, as long as they have dual citizenship ( which in today's multi cultural society ) is very common, they can indead apply to their other country?

HOG.

Fair play for all. :pfft:

When I was banned as an amatuer for refusing drug tests for the worlds ( even though I was not going as broke my foot ) i still had to serve out my amatuer ban of 2 years before sorting my pro card. the same happened to the Russian Sergey who won the amatuer worlds overall that year, he was disqualified in his first pro show as his ban was not finished. I do feel for Moe as there is some much bullshit in all sports let alone bodybuilding there always seems to be different rules for fifferent fools :):)

Hog , ANOTHER THING THAT IS SO HYPERCRTICAL.The IFBB PRO division would accept a pro application any how , failed test or not,(jim Manion said to Moe stuff your test we will just go through lebanon), the NZFBB should check with there National champion first (after all it is there future here not the committes)if he or she would want pro status or if they are planing to do the worlds, if they go for the pro option , no test, if they opt for a World titile then they get tested !!This can actualy be sorted out on the night of the show !!!but make this option only available to our overall champs !!!!

Simple realy!!!
