Man I got hustled by fed ex :s

an extra $110 in gst and a peice of clothing that wasn't on the invoice

anyone else had this? I don't think I'll order in such large quantities next time :s

As for the extra peice of clothing you didnt recieve/Buy, youl have to hit up the supplier for this.

1. youve been charged for it.

2 Youve been charged GST from NZ Customs on it

In terms of shipping Fedex wont have looked at your invoice for anything more than an address, untill giving it to customs to clear.

The customs charges is probably because they think you are going to on-sell the stuff you purchased. Or it is over a certain amount of money in which you have to start paying customs tax on top.

And the shirt will be the suppliers fault so email them and ask what happened to it.

As far as I am aware if your total order is above $400 you will have to pay GST on it, anything below and you wont. So best bet is to split big orders up

The $400 is not relevant to clothing

There is duty as well as gst on clothing so the traditional deminimis of the $50 collection gets exceeded below a value of $400.

In the case of clothing imported from the US the calculation for gst is.

Value of goods @ current (or monthly) exchange rate =________

Plus the duty (around 6%)

Plus the freight

and you pay 12.5% of this total.

Still hard to see why you paid that much extra though.

How does that work?

I buy boxes of clothing from a Online Skateshop in the states

Never once have i had to pay extra.

They only charge me for the weight of the boxes for shipping & handling..

They dont say these t-shirts are worth 80 dollars in NZ so we will change the price from 16 dollars to 40.. That just doesnt happen!

Damn, well next time im not ordering that much. Ive ordered from BB.com before but never have i had this.

Oh well. A warning for anyone who shops with bodybuilding.com i guess.

I spent 580ish and then had to pay another 100 on top of that because of it.
