JimJim83 ,you are all that is bad about NabbaNZ. One stupid remark about MuscleNZ but no positive suggestions. MuscleNZ is saying that things have been done behind closed doors for ages and I agree with him. What is about all this secrecy. Why was it a big deal to see GL's email. All this secrecy has delayed things so much that Christchurch has gone off alone and people have become shitty on the forums. Things should have been sorted out last year. It is a scandal and we are sick of waiting and being kept in the dark.

And JimJim83 you idiot don't use cheap shots like telling someone to get some test into their system.

Nic NAC paddy wack exuse my ignorance but what the hell does nac stand for is it a bodybuilding federation :pfft:IFBB i get NABBA i get but NAC so many federations , sheesh we could end up having 4 or 5 national champs lol.

National Athletics Committee - and before you start running the "Athletics" part down :pfft: , don't forget in NZ we are the sheltered ones to the rest of the world. I am sure it covers a bit more spectrum in Germany and Europe....

Here is one site I found - http://www.nac-uk.co.uk . Good quality of athletes, no need for NZ competitors to worry about their height / weight ratio's (if applicable) as they are the same as NABBA NZ.

Good result.

Sorry Mike, but I just need to clarify your statement in case your comments are taken out of context with the essence of this thread. The NABBA International that Mike competed in & is referencing is NOT the true NABBA INTERNATIONAL aligned with NABBA/WFF Australia & now NABBA/WFF New Zealand. The difficulty with NAC, as I see it, is that it is broadly a Northern Hemisphere Federation with no affiliations in Australia or the Oceania area. Let's be realistic, as a nation of 4 mil we cannot expect to have any credence unless we are seen to have come from, or as part of, the Australasian area & the only Federations that are providing this choice are currently NABBA/WFF & possibly INBA. Oh my I hear all you IFBB'ers going off big time. Well thats another story that is evolving in NZ

NAC is mostly European but is quite a high quality. Nabba NZ decided not to go with NAC in 2006 after which the International problems began.

Unfortunately now we have 2 Nabba's in New Zealand and one of them is affiliated to a group called NAC. Nabba NZ is going to keep it's name.

We have the South Island which is affiliated to Nabba Australia and the North Island which is Nabba NZ.

It is a shame because there was a chance to unite everyone in one federation.

I like Graeme Lancefield but the conditions he asked from Peter Hardwick and Nabba have prevented a unification. I am not saying they were unjustified just that the reality is we have a mixed up competition as the Congress decided the conditions were too harsh.

I know there is a lot of bitterness between Graeme and Jim/Marianne but the ones that suffer are the competitors.

We are now condemned to have 4 federations in New Zealand:Nabba NZ, Nabba Australia,NZFBB and INBA.

Jim and Marianne can still run good shows like the Manawatu champs so was it necessary to expel them completely? The direction of Nabba NZ is now set so at least International competitors can plan ahead.

Hi 86

We have the South Island which is affiliated to Nabba Australia and the North Island which is Nabba NZ.

A portion of competitors and reps alike in the North are affiliated to Nabba NZ - that is the choice that they have made. Myself and my husband made a decision to affiliate ourselves with Nabba/WFF Australia - and there are many more who have also chosen to do this.

It is a shame because there was a chance to unite everyone in one federation

Indeed it is a shame - but Nabba NZ have made their decision - whether we feel it is right or wrong. The Congress may have decided that these conditions were too harsh - well if it was - thats something that they needed to deal with. I do not believe that it was Graeme's conditions that prevented a unification - it was Nabba NZ not accepting these conditions which did. There is no grey area with Graeme - you either like it or you don't and if you don't - thats just tough. That's why myself and my husband respect this man - there is no pissing around with him and he calls a spade a spade. People may not like the way he operates - but at least you know where you stand with him - and that is something that needs to be applauded. In this day and age - we've become so prone to being so politically correct - that people won't or cannot speak their mind. Whether it is due to upsetting others - who knows - maybe - but really - people who cannot handle his forwardness, and dislike the way they think he has operated, really need to get over themselves.

Jim and Marianne can still run good shows like the Manawatu champs so was it necessary to expel them completely?

If that was the directive that was given by our International Nabba President - then yes. I know that alot of people want them gone as well - but as I have said - Nabba NZ have made a decision - so be it.

It is now up to competitors to make up their own minds as to whatever federation they choose to compete with. We here in Hawkes Bay (Alan and myself) do not fence sit - either make up your mind on where you are going to go and what you are going to do - or stay in the background - and say nothing.

At the end of the day - everyone has their choice.

I hope we do not have a civil war :D

NABBA/WFF NZ will welcome past & present members from other federations at any of our shows providing they pay our membership & entry fees & bide by our rules of competition. This will include INBA competitors who will slot into the WFF categories quite easily. I don't feel the number of federations now in NZ will be detrimental to competitors, but will actually offer more choices.

Yes as far as the competitor goes it doesn't matter what federation as long as they are up there. I'm sure the new Nabba/WFF format will be very popular. I presume it will be a one show format.

I see the Nabba NZ Christchurch show is still scheduled for May 1st, the same day as the Nabba/WFF show.
