Amateur Bodybuilding

Hi all, Ive always been interested in getting a amateur bodybuilding figure, not for competitions, just to tone up but dont think I have enough disipline for it. How often do you have to workout weekly and for how long and what sort of diet is involved with it?

Hi, depends on your weight, bodyfat and how much you need to lose. The bodybuilding diet is quite extreme and certainly not something you would want to live on. However, a change in nutrition will get you there but may take a little longer, but it will be something you can live on. The training involves 5-7 days per week about 1 hour per day with a mix of cardio and weight training. The only difference between bodybuilders and general gym public, is that we increase the intensity in training with a drop off of carbs an fat and an increase in protein. Everyone does it differently so there is no right and wrong, only practice to see what works. Get some pics done and im sure everyone can offer there advice too.
