how long are you guys working out for? my workouts used to be as much as 90 mins but i dont have enough spare time anymore, so iv cut it back to an hour max. is it true that any more than about an hour is counterproductive anyway?

haha your gonna start the natural vs gear argument bro. if your natty, hour MAX, or yes youll be doing yourself a disservice. cut down rest times/volume if need be, or change your training structure to get it to under an hour..

yeah iv been doing a shitload of german volume training (10 sets of 10) for a while now but havent gotten much stronger at all

I'm 40 minutes at lunch time during work days. But seeing I am on holiday I have been hanging around for 1.5 to 2 hours. It's nice to take my time but I do notice I wasn't working out with as much intensity of my normal 40 minute sessions as I knew I could take my time.

i personally train for 1.5 hour every session because i train a major muscle group then a minor. this excludes my stretching then a bike/hill walk warm up, which would add another 15-20 mins. so im in the gym for about 2 hours every session.

pretty quick but pretty intense

40mins for major body part 70mins for major + minor

Remember: the longer your workout, the greater the chance of going catabolic and burning muscle for energy once all your glycogen has been used up. Longer workouts for muscle building can be very counter-productive

Agree - pretty much the same although probably 60min is my absolute limit - train like this on or off cycle. (Argument is kind of irelavent IMO).

Intensity goes up and down based on motivation and training structures at the time.
