Atlas Stones @ USC

Finally downloaded some clips from USC - here's Van Hatfield & the Texas Stoneman doing the Atlas Stones (140 - 220kg, last ones 22" OD, which is a huge stone!).

It's cool how they don't even seem to notice the 140, lightweight.

If I remember rightly, atlas stones are made from real rocks (or boulders..) which are then cut to atlas shape.

Now NZ doesn't have any atlas stones, but would creating a big mould and filling it with concrete be effective? If not, why not?

Atlas Stones are usually made from concrete with inserts (lead/polystyrene) to achieve desired weights. Mostly made with Slaters Molds. We are planning on making some for the HB Strongest Man, and I believe Justin is awaiting some Molds in Akld.
