measuring creatine

just bought myself some creatine mono, but theres no measuring scoop included. whats the best way to measure it? on the packet it says one "heaped" teaspoon is 5g but that seems pretty vague

Out of curiosity I once weighed a level metric 5ml teaspoon of creatine and it was 4g. As the size and capacity of teaspoons for putting sugar in your coffee vary I never bothered with those. I'd say a heaped one would be about 5g though.

Yeah "heaped" is a bit vague as you can get anywhere upto 10 grams or a little more onto a teaspoon if you really heap it. That micronised stuff seems to really bond when spooning it out.

It's a little difficult to describe verbally how much 5 grams is without showing. If I can find my camera I'll post a picture as that's probably the best way.

Just put a teaspoon in the tub and whatever amount of powder is on it when you pull it out is how much you take. 8)

I was using EAS creatine mono (which is my opinion isn't that great). The instructions on the back advises 5g = 1 and 1/2 teaspoons. A teaspoon being 5ML capacity. So 7.5ml = 5g EAS creatine mono.

you can get a 5ml measuring spoon from the supermarket.

I found a level 5ml spoon holds spot on 4 grams on my scales. Couldn't post pics as my camera is dead and i cant find the usb lead for my phone camera.
