train and retrain?

I asked as imilar question a while ago but I have a variation that I'm curious about.

I was working out the other day and got called away by family commitments (bathing the kids, ect, this is the problem with having your gym in the garage, you can't get away).

Anyway I hadn't wreaked my arms at that time and after I finished doing everything for the wife that came up after the bath time, it had been a good couple of hours since I'd stopped lifting. My question is this, is there any reason for not, or detrement to me going back in to "finsh off" the certain muscle group a few hours after I'd started?

Surley it's not overtraining as the muscle didn't get to a fatiged point of failure? is it? I hate that feeling of not having wreaked the desired muscle group after I walk out of the garage. It feels like I've just wated time.

what do you think?

It won't hurt anything, most likely. Odds are it's not gonna help you out much, either.

What most people call overtraining and what overtraining actually is are two different things.

Your body's response to exercise is not as simple as flipping an on/off switch.

It sounds like you're putting a lot of investment on what you feel in response to a workout, vs. what's actually relevant to having a good workout.
