Personally I just take it with water. Seems to be fine

Are you sure about that? You never can tell! I saw a study that said water was poisonous

Holy crapolla Bat-Rose, good thing you told me just in the nick of time *whew*

Unfortunately I now have to wipe a whole lot of that toxic water off my puter after I spat it out

Actually it just got changed to this.

http://maxxessentials.com/waxy770g.php

Unfortunately it's still a bunch of balls. Waxy maize has been shown to be one of those supps that looked good at first but turns out to be a bit of a lemon. The only people that still think it's good are the supps companies as they make a shed load from packaging up some cheap carbs and sticking a a trademark on it.

I'm stealing this from Will Brink as he sums up the current data best - http://brinkzone.com/articledetails.php ... 9&acatid=3

"One major claim of WMS is “rapid glycogen” storage after exercise compared to other carbs. One study compared WMS to dextrose, maltodextrin, and a “resistant”*** starch. 8 male cyclists were put through a workout designed to deplete their glycogen stores**** so their muscles would be primed for glycogen storage as mentioned above in the “Brief History” section. Furthermore, after feeding them these various carb sources - at 24 hours after the glycogen depleting workout program - glycogen levels were essentially the same between the WMS, dextrose, and malto. In fact - although not statistically significant - dextrose was the best of the bunch in this study for getting glycogen levels back up after the exercise protocol (1) which is what athletes should strive for after tough workouts."

It's interesting that in the info sheet for Maxx Essentials Waxy Maize Maxx they reference two studies which were conducted on a product called Vitargo - http://vitargo.com/

Unfortunately what's in Waxy Maize Maxx is not the same product that was used in the study - not unless maxx essentials are ripping off Vitargo's patent.

Dihydrogen Monoxide - dangerous?.....hell yes! :pfft:

But I've enjoyed this thread, learned some stuff.

Having ceased taking creatine for the past two months, I've definitely noticed a drop-back in lifting capability.

I'd not done a loading phase, being on the steady dose/day, but will be researching a loading phase for after the break.

I spend a lot of time researching supplements etc and testing them out to see what works and what doesn't. Im still gaining and most of what I've tested works well

Curious. If your second point is true, surely you'd know the basics about supplementing with creatine, the recommended washout period, and why it's recommended? What exactly do you 'research'?

Don't you work in the supplement industry? Are you one of those people who knows f*ck all about what they sell?

LOL! Scatty because I called you on valid points? Classic. They were just questions Ordy, nothing personal.

I just think it's important to know the basics about something if you're giving advice on it (and possibly selling it).

It's a public forum

Of course its personal, just saying it isn't doesn't change the fact. Im asking because i needed to know, I still read up about it. But it takes a while to learn it all and there is a massive amount to learn.

I could just learn elsewhere only, but i like to know what people on here do.

No, it wasn't. You chose to take it personally. They were valid questions. I'd ask the same of anyone else posting, it's not about you specifically.

I understand that. My point is that in other threads you've given advice on how to take Creatine, without knowing the basics about it. I was therefore curious what you research. Personal preference, I'd want to know about what I'm taking before taking it (and telling others how to take it).
