I've just updated the forum software. There may have been a small period of downtime while I was doing this, so apologies if anyone was inconvenienced by the outage...

Everything should be up and running again now though, so let me know if you discover something that isn't working - either in here, or at admin@nzbb.co.nz

Tallulahangie - the forum software doesn't cope with daylight savings, since these change from country to country (and in some cases, town to town). I can set a default clock for the board which is used by visitors, but registered members set their own timezone, and so have to adjust their profile manually. You can do this by clicking the Profile link at the top of the page, scrolling down till you see Timezone, and put it forward an hour, and save it.

Now, compounding the issue, today after the techies had restored our server, the clock was about an hour fast. I got that fixed within 30 mins or so, but any messages posted within that period would have been stamped with the "fast" time. This is why your question appears before my second post above - despite the fact that you actually posted nearly 40 mins after me. Confused yet? It's ok... apart from this small glitch in the matrix, this problem's been solved. :D

So on to the next problem...

If there's anyone currently unable to log into the forums, don't worry. It's not because we've banned you. It's an issue caused by this latest sodding upgrade I applied to the forum last night. I've been trying various fixes throughout the day, and it's affected various people. I'm still working on it, so please be patient and don't despair. Send me an email (admin@nzbb.co.nz) so I know you're having trouble, and we'll get it sorted, I promise. If it's any consolation, this morning it wouldn't let me log in either.

Phew! Faulty upgrades, broken servers, incorrect clocks... Yes, I think I've had better days! :P

I think we've got this login problem sussed. I suspect it's only affected people who were here during a certain time yesterday afternoon... Maybe... Whatever the cause, the good news is there's a fix.

If you can't log in, you need to delete your browser's cookies. It's a bit of a nuisance, I'm afraid, because it will clear any auto-logins you may have on other websites too (that just means you'll have to log into them again). But it's worked for everyone who's tried it, so I'm hopeful it will work for you too!

If you use Internet Explorer, you can do this by clicking Tools > Internet Options > Delete Cookies.

Yeah i had this problem too, i couldnt loggin so i deleted the nzbb cookies and then i could get in. I have heaps of cookies though, and i hate haveing to log into sites everytime i delete all the cookies, so if you only want to delete the nzbb cookies then do the following.

Open the search function from the start menu, then set it to search your cookie folder, then enter nzbb as the search. If successful it will locate all the nzbb cookies you have amassed and you will be able to delete just those cookies, saving you lots of hassle. :D

Alternatively if you are not that computer saavy and dont know where your cookie folder is then you could just search your whole comp, a bit time consuming though, remember to check hidden folders too, i think you cant access the cookie folder unless you have chosen to view hidden/system folders and files etc.
