Multi Vitamins

Currently (when I remember) I'm taking a Nature's Own Men's Multi. Why? Because it's cheap insurance that all my nutritional bases are covered. And because it's a gel capsule - other multis I've tried have been like little rocks, and I could picture them coming out the other end as undigested as they went in. Hopefully the capsule has better absorption.

About the only thing tribulus has been proven to be good for, is weakening the virulence of Candida albicans and killing fungi. Do you get thrush? :pfft:

Dietary supplement

T. terrestris is now being promoted as a booster for the purpose of increasing sex drive. Its use for this purpose originated in Eastern Europe in the 1970s. It was popularized in America by 1970s strongman Jeffrey Petermann. Independent studies [5] have suggested that Tribulus terrestris extract slightly increases hormone levels, though leaving them in the normal range.

Tribulus has been shown to enhance sexual behaviour in an animal model.[10] It appears to do so by stimulating androgen receptors in the brain.

Some body builders use T. terrestris as post cycle therapy or "PCT". After they have completed an anabolic-steroid cycle, they use it under the assumption that it will restore the body's natural testosterone levels.

Watch out for the ones that have Saw Palmetto in them. That shit will stop your Testosterone from turning into DiHydroTestosterone (which is 3-5 times stronger than regular test! why would you want to block this!).

not sure but iv seen info on doing test cycles and you take 320mg of standardized saw palmetto extract per day week 1-12.

my 2cents :-s

Multiple mechanisms of action have been proposed, and saw palmetto appears to possess 5-α-reductase inhibitory activity (thereby preventing the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone). Hormonal/estrogenic effects have also been reported, as well as direct inhibitory effects on androgen receptors and anti-inflammatory properties.

Some people add DHEA to their cycle too, because of mild conversion to estrogen (helps with the joints I think). I'm guessing this is similar. Once T has turned into DHT, it cannot be converted back to estrogen by the enzyme aromatase. So by inhibiting the conversion to DHT, more Testosterone is available to convert into estrogen. Not what you want if not on a cycle.

I remember doing a vitamin comparison a while back, and taking into account the soil in NZ was low to non-existant in I think Boron and Zinc?

I found a brand made in NZ for our conditions, Multi-Vite.

I assume its aimed at the average person so dunno how it stacks up to other brands in the heavy workload department.

I train to near death and then do physical labour for another 8.5 hrs and seems fine for my needs.

Hmm, I notice that Metaphysics includes iron and calcium in their multi, Hercfeend. Iron and calcium block the proper absorption of zinc and other important minerals. I don't know why so many multis include these - it's counter-productive, so best to avoid them if you can.
