I heard running first thing in the morning before eating is the best for fat lose. but everyone is different. I also heard that if you run in the morning it will boost your metabolism (cant spell) all day long! When running in the evening however it will go down when once you've hit the hay.

It's not about running, could be any cardio...

But cardio before breakfast (on an empty stomach) is one of the better ways to lose bodyfat.

Get up, black coffee (no point in undoing your good work with milk and sugar!) run/bike/etc, then have breakfast.

From memory (I'll try to find my source) that was better than cardio last thing at night, and better than cardio after weights. The worst thing to do is cardio THEN weights.

I'm about to re-start a 9-week programme that has me doing 30-40min HIIT before breakfast on nowt but an aspirin and a coffee, and again last thing at night (not with the coffee, obviously), along with a twice-a-day, six-days-a-week training split.

I've done it before, never fainted (but then I have ample stores from which to draw energy  )

I'll let you know how I get on :)

you shouldnt run your body will go catabolic 1st thing.

walk at 60% your max empty stomache 40mins should be able to cover 2 milesish. drink plain green tea or coffee no milk no sugar before you go aswell.

thats what my friend does for his contest prep on a cut and it works very well.

i'm going to give it a crack, I did 20mins this morning on an empty stomach, had a black coffee/splenda, beforehand though.

Shouldn't think your body would go catabolic, is there research to suggest otherwise?

I regularly did rpm and high intensity training on an empty stomach and fatburners, plus aminos/glutamine leading up to comp time

wouldnt it depend on intensity??

i see what you mean tho, i can only imagine a catabolic effect.

hrrrmmmm interesting.

i can see how your body would utilise the fats as a fuel source, but the risk of catabolism is surely high without correct fuels in the body??
