Seeking HITT advice

Hiya,

I need some advice on HITT, how many times per week and exactly what to do and for how long. I am certainly not a runner, but am willing to give anything a go to drop this extra bit of fat.

I will be doing weights Mon - Fri 6am start and hope to do HITT straight afterwards. I would also like to know if I should be having a shake before training or can I just wait until I get home.

I know it's not the fad these days, but I don't like HIIT more than two, maybe three times per week at most. If you're doing it as most suggest, it ends up being too much work along with weight training for legs and dieting (which is when you'd expect most people to do a ton of HIIT).

I prefer doing either extensive tempo training (which can be thought of as "medium intensity intervals") or just plain old aerobic stuff (20-40 minutes worth) if you're doing to be doing cardio on a daily basis.

The one thing that I have been getting into recently is Tabata Training. You should do these on your non weight days and they will kill you.

This takes almost no time at all but is brutal and effective. Combine this with a good clean diet concentrating of whole foods and limited refined carbs and you will be ripped.

If you have any doubts, give it a go. Four minutes does not seem a long time but using this principle with excercises such as thrusters and you will be exhasted with your heart level through the roof.

Do 4 minutes of thrusters and 4 minutes of press ups and see how that stands against 40 minutes of pointless slow cardio.

anyway, i would say HIIT no more than 3 maybe 4 times a week. See how your body copes and bring it back if you need to.

I normally have a high protein snack (bar or tuna) 30-45 minutes before and drink a shake as I am training. Only just introduced the shake to the work out, works ok if you dont throw it up. :puke:

sounds good, I have a new workout too, 3 minutes thrusters and 3 minutes of push ups. Its way better than 4 minutes of slow boring pointless exercise. Combined with not eating at all and some serious meth use, you will be ripped more than any Tabatha training will do for you.

Your plan sounds whey better  Where do I sign up? I don't know where to get any meth, you can sort that too, right?
