tall people and bodybuilding

Recommended Posts

Hey there,

I am not super tall - I am about 6'3. But I feel like I am too tall to be a bodybuilder (I am trying to prove that wrong). I weight about 275 right now and I feel that I am not big enough to have the muscle size/definition compare to shorter person I feel like I have long muscles that are more spread out...I am big......but not BIG ENOUGH

I am cutting right now to 250...at that point I will analyze my body more.... I will see where i go from there....I feel like i have to be over 300lbs (heavies I ever was 287lbs) to have good base...but that's a lot of food and mass on my body!!

Most of the bodybuilders that compete are usually 6'0 and below.

any options/advice on tall people in bodybuilding??

275lbs = 124kg ... pretty solid mate. You can still be very competative on stage .... comes down to making sure you a shredded and that you work your strengths on stage.

I will see how I look in Feb...that's my end game for my cutting diet. I am hopping to be shredded at 250.

no offence to this dude but at 6'3" I'd be wanting to carry a bit more muscle than that especially in the legs....good readin his log though.

Arnie was 6'2"-3" wasnt he, Big Louie 6'5" and Noah Steere is just plain ole huge at 6'6"

its definitely harder for guys over 6ft to look as good as shorter guys on stage

just to get the same symmetry etc your shoulders have to be so much wider and waist smaller etc

but theres some guys around who have gotten there at a taller height

but generally shorter guys have an advantage with smaller joints and muscle bellies that arent as long etc

but keep going man if you can build a impressive physique at 6ft 3 you will look amazing.

Fully agree with you here. I am <86.5kg for my NABBA competitions (Athletic). I am 6.2 and I can be on stage with a 65kg guy who is way shorter and I look smaller!

Still when it's all said and done, I suit being bigger and taller than a "short arse" in the real world with clothes on..... :pfft:

I try! lol

Cheers
