Membership Consultant Information?

Hi Everyone,

Has anybody been a gym Membership Consultant? Any thoughts on the job?

Are targets realistically achieved?

Targets are quite hard to achieve. If you are good at sales the sky is the limit, but most MCs that come in really struggle and dont last very long.

Out of interest where are you thinking of working? Which chain?

Have you done commission selling work before?

Experience in cold calling or hard selling?

I was one for awhile...its an ok job i guess. Usually targets are hard to acheive, alot of cold calling is involved..and if you enjoy that then its a good start....however I don't think the money is there..you'll get your good weeks...for example when marketing throw some kind of event to get people through the doors you'll make a good commission that week then the next back to square one, i'd rather be a PT, but you'll learn alot about people skills from being a consultant...

Can pay more than PTing if you are able to sell yourself well. Sometimes more rewarding :nod:

I've done it and also briefly worked as sales manager for a chain gym back in the States. As they've said, if you're self-motivated as far as generating leads and closing, you'll be fine.

If not, I'd think twice about it.
