Investigators hired to tackle steroid use in gyms and combat trade on internet

Private investigators look set to become the principal weapon in the fight to catch sport's drug cheats.

Drug Free Sport NZ has employed Prestige Risk Management, of Auckland, to follow tips about suspected drugs cheating in New Zealand sport.

However, Drug Free Sport NZ chief executive Graeme Steel said it was inevitable the investigations would become more pro-active.

Interesting, I wonder what they will do with the information they find on people that have nothing to do with sport nz other than bodybuilding for personal reasons

Exactly. Bring it on :P

Perhaps pass the info on to a different govt dept i.e police or medsafe. The big busts always start with the little guy and its through investigation that they bring down the supplier/importer.

  • 2 weeks later...

...ditto to that Narcosis....although not to your specific comment about spending Govt monies this way....illegal is still illegal regardless.....Its gonna be difficult enough sorting the fake shit from the real gear for a 1st timer so I just would have preferred that the odds were massively more in favour of NOT being caught as an added dis-incentive....
